In general I enjoyed my stay at the Empress Hotel. The room was comfortable, the staff very pleasant and helpful. The attached restaurant is reasonable - breakfasts are best eaten early if you want your hot foods hot. Although the staff are willing to bring hot water to rooms, I thought the lack of a kettle or facilities to make tea or coffee in the rooms was a surprising and inconvenient omission. Visiting guests are required to produce ID before entering rooms. I thought this was a bit much, but it is possibly the practice in many hotels thoughout Vietnam.

This hotel was quite pleasant to stay in but the location on the street Bui Thi Xuan was eye opening for the traveller unaccustomed to being a pedestrian in Ho Chi Minh City and the issues with being a pedestrian. The close proximity to Tao Dan Park was a big plus. The room had a bar fridge, so you could keep a little fruit and soy milk or whatever else needed. It would have been nice if the room had a kettle and cups for tea or coffee. I would recommend this hotel to those of modest needs and basic requirements. I felt the service of the Bell Captains and Kitchen and Front Desk staff was exceptional. Wireless internet is freely available here.

Great cheap and cheerful clean place with great staff. Breakfast is best avoided but their is plenty of stuff around the hotel to keep you happy. We had a great time.

located at one end of the main shopping road, Le Loy, leading to Benh thanh market which is about 20 mins walk. Breakfast was good, the waitress will refill fresh food each time guests walk in. Reception staff and bell boys are helpful . Rooms are very clean but shower's water spray are weak .
