Embassy Suites Lake Tahoe Hotel & Ski Resort Guest Reviews
Perfect South Lake Tahoe location. The Staff was very friendly and you can't beat the happy hour and breakfast. Would stay here again in a heart beat!

The hotel was nice and was nicer and cheaper than the casinos next door. The complimentary happy hour drinks and breakfast were really good. But i don't like the fact that they charged for internet. You can get free internet at a cheap motel, so why not a fanicer place? Also, only having valet parking with a fee is a little much. The concierge did tell us about a great lake cruise on the Safari Rose which was amazing, so it was a good weekend stay.

There is forced valet parking ($25 a day) that is somehow not included when making reservations. Since we booked through 3rd party [...] we got the lowest room option possible. I am a Hilton Gold Member and that did not matter--we could not change rooms or ask for anything better. We were staying in a handicap room where things clearly are set up for this inconvenience. The shower flooded everytime and even into the rug--making the floors always wet/musky smelling. Customer Service was poor at best--nobody really wanted to help when seeking advice on how to make the stay better. The breakfast was like cows awaiting their meals--LONG lines every morning and left you with walking around seeking a place to sit. We felt that staying there was 'ok' but for spending $200 a night PLUS forced valet--the money could have been used at many other locations much nicer. Marriott Timberlodge next door was SO nice--and we were sad we did not choose it instead when booking. I would have canceled to be honest, but we had already paid in advance [...] --really made our Tahoe trip not as pleasant or enjoyable as friends who stayed elsewhere.

The hotel and service was very nice until we were checking out and we were billed for two movies on two separate nights that we did not rent. We were not even present in our room at the time they said the movies were rented. We didn't rent any movies the whole time we were there. We also let the manager know that on the last night there, when we returned to our room, the door was ajar. When we let the manager, [...], know, she was extremely rude, never smiling and only offered to reverse the lesser charge. When we offered to provide dinner receipts and witnesses, she rudely declined. When we continued to state that we did not rent any movies and we were not going to pay for services we did not use. She finally, after speaking to her on the phone and in person, offered to have us fill out a statement and she would do a lock check to see who had entered our room. Later, she stated that no one had entered the room at that time, so she still wasn't going to reverse both charges (total of $27.98). When the technician came to our room to investigate, he also checked the TVs. One of the TVs was too old and didn't have a number they could check. While in our room, the technician was speaking to another guy on the radio and the other guy told the technician, "Just forget it, why don't they just credit the customer for the movie. We have more important things to attend to." MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!! SERIOUSLY, this manager, [...], basically calling us liars and was going to make her point by not reversing the other $16.99. I hope it was worth it to lose some good customers. To us, it is the principle of the matter, that we aren't going to pay for what we didn't use and we don't like being treated with disrespect. I'm not going to waste my time and efforts to try to get out of paying for movies that I rented. That's just dumb! The manager's rudeness just topped it off. Just think if they are doing this to several customers, most customers probably not willing to complain and just pay it, and how much money they could make. They obviously have a security problem with their movie system!!!!!

I would recommend this hotel. The positives are: the room, the free breakfasts, the free nightly manager's reception, and the friendly staff. The areas that need improvement are: 1) If you are going to bill yourself as a "green" hotel, why weren't the recycling bins on the third floor ever emptied, even after two requests? 2) Some of the amenities are outdated as we had to request a working in-room fridge and the shower handle had to be repaired before we could even use the shower. 3) The TV channel options were poor and the TV was very old school.
