Overall it was a pretty good experience. The pool area was nice because it was right on the ocean and had a lot of lounge chairs. My friend and I where having a good time with some drinks and relaxation at the pool. However, the manager was somewhat annoying because he interogated us about being guests and verifying our room number. Took away from the experience to be questioned like that while having a good time.

The rating of average is a bit misleading. It may have been a bit about. We travel bare-bones with no big expectations, except for clean, comfortable, and friendly. A nice bathroom with enough towels and we are happy. All were adequately met. The pool, beach, and hot tub are well maintained and quite satisfactory. The continental breakfast is sufficent and the kitchenette is a big plus. The patio is a nice feature. Our choice in a hotel is for value without a lot of fluff. It's a place to sleep and take a shower and maybe toast a bagel. So, this is our kind of hotel. We have stayed at much pricier hotels that were never worth it. This was just fine. Two things,if you book there: Bring something waterproof for your room key as they are not cards, but micro-chip keys. Friday and Saturday night there is a live band at the hotel next door (Shephard's) till 2AM. Fine, if you like. Otherwise, request a room opposite Shephard's. You will thank us for it. Should you wish to fish, ask me and I will direct you to the finest charter captain in Clearwater Beach. We will book there again.

The hotel was affordable and conveniently situated next door to some really good entertainment and parties! Shopping and Ihop really close too. Staff was very friendly. Wish they had a computer for guests to use, tho.

After reading the reviews I a little hesitant but was more than happy with the out come. The hotel was located right between two hotels that had entertainment day & night during the holiday weekend. It was located on the beach with a gated pool deck overlooking the water. The room was nice & clean & the staff could not be more helpful or polite. The only flaw might have been the size of the pool, but with the gulf waters so close I had no problem chosing one or the other & there was plenty of chairs on the deck to chose from.
