I stayed in this hotel during my visit to portland. The room was clean, though a bit compact. Receptionist was nice and friendly.

It does not matter how nice any thing is or how good the staff might be if you can't get any sleep because some group of narsistic partiers, hookers, pimps or who ever they were are taking over the parking lot and keeping people up to 3 o'clock in morning, with management sticking there heads in the ground ignoring it all. I don't know what I was thinking, I was so tired I guess I thought they were going to stop soon. I didn't want to get up and deal with it. I called the management, finally just as they got in there cars and left. The next morning @ 6 am I went and talked to the desk and he played the I did my best, I'm clueless, card. I should have call the police and to heck with the management.

We had a great time here. We wanted to save money and although we wanted to stay at the very cool doug fir (which is truly just a motel with blue lighting, an awesome music venue, and a bar that you can spend lots of money at that you saved by staying at the Eastside Lodge) we decided to stay at here. You can literally go on Google street view and see the doug fir from here. There's lots within walking distance besides just the doug fir, such as pizza, sushi, strip clubs, bars, restaurants, and the Galaxy Restaurant and Lounge with tons of karaoke right in the parking lot. I loved the guy who worked there, very funny, sweet, and efficient. A cute old Indian man who made us giggle with his silly quips. It's totally a motel but for the cheap rates and convenience, go for it!

I stayed in Portland for four days after wandering around Washington. Eastside Hotel was a good base of operations for the stay. I was able to walk to the Oregon Brewers Fest down by the river as well as hit nearby Brew Pubs and coffee shops. It was also easy to get back to after day trips down The Gorge and to Mt. Hood. It's a little old, but for the price and location a great place to stay while in town.

Hotel was fine, nothing fancy, rooms were clean, loved that it had a fridge and microwave! The area was great! Within walking distance of great bars, vegan restaurants, and the vegan mall!! Next time I'm back in PDX I'm staying at Eastside!!
