East Hotel Hong Kong Guest Reviews
Good, clean room, very modern. No door to bathroom, glass wall between bathroom and bed, lack of privacy. Otherwise a nice hotel in good location connected to a shopping mall.

Pro's: Great Views, Big Screen TV that you may plug your laptop into - they provide HDMI Cables, or a VGA Plug, as well as the older RCA plugs. Excellent chair for the desk. Complimentary Wi-Fi. Easy check in - easy check out. They will exchange currency for you. The TV is also wall mounted and comes out a bit and swivels. It may be hidden behind a wall photo but just slide the photo to the left to reveal the TV. Pro's: Location is right next to the Taikoo MTR station on the Island Line. In fact you can exit the MTR and walk a few steps to the hotel and not get a drop of rain on you. Pro's: Major shopping mall (Cityplaza) is also adjacent to the hotel. In fact you can enter the mall directly from the hotel without going outside. This mall has restaurants and a six theater movie multiplex. Pro's: Airport connection: The hotel will arrange a airport shuttle bus which will stop at one other hotel, The Park Lane, and get you to the airport in about an hour. First pickup time is 5:40 AM and the bus arrives once an hour after that. The best part of it is the cost and value at HK$130 it is only a few dollars more than taking the MTR to Hong Kong Station and then the Air Express train to the airport which would run you about HK$106. But the airport shuttle is direct door to door. Pro's: Rooftop Bar, swimming pool, full service restaurant - Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner. Pro's: Great staff and an excellent Room Service. Pro's: Rooms have air-conditioning and you can control the temperatures. Lots of hot water, great water pressure, and a choice of Rainfall from shower ceiling or a hand held nozzle. Decent selection of soaps and shampoo. Cons - while the area does have great restaurants and shopping - it is 9 MTR stations from Central but that is only about 15 minutes away and the MTR trains are fast, clean, and come often plus the MTR stations are air-conditioned. If you want to go over to Kowloon side change at Admiralty and get off one stop later in Tsim Sha Tsui. Cons: Room is not at all big. In fact there's not a side chair - just the desk chair. But the desk chair is on wheels, quite comfortable, and can be moved away from the desk so you can watch TV from a location other than the bed. Cons: Breakfast was a bit overpriced, and the breakfast service was quite slow. Tip: Go to breakfast before 8:00 AM or after 9:00 AM. In summary I enjoyed my stay at the East. Loved the area, and the list of positives far outweighed the few small negatives.

Overall, my family and I had a great experience staying at the East Hong Kong Hotel. The online reservation was hassle-free and check-in/check out was a breeze. The hotel was well-situated, being near a shopping center and just across an MTR station. So, going to any other spot in HK was very convenient. The hotel had great concept and design - very modern and chic! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Only problem was that we were not booked in a non-smoking floor. Having my wife and kids with me, I was concerned about the cigarette smell. Definitely we will use HotelClub again when we go abroad!

New and funcky hotel. Good for couples but may post difficulties for family especially the transparent glass door to the shower.....
