On arrival or room was not ready. Was told to come back 4 times then asked to speak to a manager. Request denied. Room keys didn't work our entire 7 days. Safe not working at all day 1 and 2, then inconsistently. No towels at the pool each time I inquired. No hot water one day in entire building 4. Wet paint on shelves when we arrived. Now some clothing now has white paint marks. Furniture missing from our room. Some furniture delivered day 5. Alarm clock and phone not working 7 days. Smoke detectors removed from entire building. They were being installed as we checked out. Hotel is not equipped to handle large parties. We were part of a 90 person wedding group. Construction going on in building 5 our entire stay with construction noise from 0800 past 2200 each night. Construction trucks in walkways.

I must say I finally understand why there are good and bad reviews about this place. I met 4 couples at Dreams this past week and they all had gripes/issues. I will start with mine....we checked in, our swim up room was not available as promised, so we were pulled aside and were given an upgrade to a "suite" with a hot tub. That was great! Too hot to enjoy the hot tub but the room was large. Now the problem with the room was: (and I am not a nitpicker.....I just want and expect what my husband paid for) the safe was broke, asked for 6 days to get it fixed and never fixed it. We had to call everyday to get the fridge stocked, and there was a shortage of hot water 1/2 the time we got a shower. Building 5 is under construction (we were in building 8)...big time....lots of noise around there. Hard to relax by the quiet end of the pool :( They seem to be in the process of updating that one currently. You really have to request a remodeled room, that is what I heard from many people. Excursions, don't do it. The horsebacking riding was a joke. $90 bucks down the drain. The photos make it look like you are on the beach for 2 hours on these beautiful horses having a great, romantic time...NOT! These horses we surely malnutritioned. After getting on these horses, we were taken up the beach, for about 15 miniutes max, as we guided our horses over trash, plastic bottles and logs. The other hour and a half was spent partially on a dirt road and then a paved rode where there were cars, buses and mopeds. I must say though, the guides were very nice and funny! Once we rode the horses back to the ranch, they make you go in this little shop and try to get you to buy things....outrageous prices and weird things to buy. Dinner at the Seaside restaurant the 2nd night, was tasty until it came out the other end. Yep, I got food poisoning. And I wasnt the only one, I spoke to others that did as well. Therefore, they had to close the restaurant.....not sure for how long though.... Another flaw......pushy, pushy sales people. Timeshare, timeshare, timeshare. And when it wasnt a time share thing, it was excursions. Also, those little stands they put out a few evenings during the week...it is hard to get around them..you must walk past them, which means getting bugged to buy their overpriced junk. And junk is what everyone says it is. We will not return to this resort...ever. I am sure that there are some that like it and that is great for them, but it was not great for us:( The best part was the pool. Beautiful! Grounds are beautiful as well, but that is about it for the place. P.S. Just got back from the physician whom informed me I have parasites from food poisoning......nice.
