Just returned from a trip to Dreams in Puerto Vallarta and, in two words, Muy Bien! The resort was just great - and I'm a tough critic. The property itself is clean, well tended, and spacious enough to give you room and options. The beach is really well kept and almost rock-free - really awesome waves. The restaurants are good - Oceana the best - and buffets always well stocked and fresh. We also went into town a few nights but is not a requirement by any means. The nightly bar scene was lively, but could use more entertainment. Only one night featured a band which made the whole thing better. Rooms were great and the views spectacular. Waves are big, so don't expect too many water activities to be open. And the "fun little walking jungle tour" offered through the activity center...unless you're in good shape and don't mind a few scrapes, it's not a walk in the park! Overall a 9/10 - you never have to leave the property it really is all inclusive. And the staff, a 10/10.

I used to love this hotel, my family and I have been before. This time it seemed the food was lacking, I understand that because they cook for so many it will lack some flavor, but it used to be better as if they dont care cause they have their 4 diamonds now. I was also a little put off by the "reservation system" for the christmas eve dinner. It was supposed to be first come first serve to the nice out door buffet (food was much better that night) But the reservation was basically you had to buy a bottle of wine to get seated first (its all inclusive, I shouldnt have to buy more, esp if I dont drink wine) ANd I went to rock climb one day and they shut it down 45 minutes early! The guide took down the ropes as we were walking up. And lastly I got hives from the unclean state of the chairs by the beach. THE GOOD: The staff is mostly friendly, the room is super comfy and the view is great, going shopping downtown is funn and affordable.

This was our second trip to this hotel. Staff and hotel are wounderful, it's not as big as others we have stayed at, their are two towers,Tower one rooms are pretty basic, very clean, the staff is wounderful. Tower two, rooms are very updated, and free internet. The people are just fantastic. will be going back next year for two more weeks.

We had such an amazing time last year that we decided to come back to Dreams. Some of the reasons we like it is because of the private beach, ocean view rooms, activities, entertainment, AMAZING food, friendly staff, and cleanliness. It was also nice to see about 10 or so other gay couples (both men and women), which made us feel more comfortable than last year when there were only one or two others. This is a great hotel if you are looking to relax and unwind instead of party. The private beach is worth the extra distance. We went into the city this year and the public beaches where all the other hotels were seemed really trashy, literally. People packed in like sardines, garbage everywhere, peddlers galore. Having a private beach without all the rifraff, along with really nice bathrooms close by made all the difference. The only drawbacks we found were as follows: something new they have this year is that you are greated by staff members to get your facility "coupons." They sit you down at a "VIP" desk and then continue to go on a sales pitch. We ran into several other reps during our stay that were really annoying--we thought we could ask them a simple question, but they always went into their sales pitch. Another drawback was the cost of the spa. We got massages last year and don't remember having to pay that much. $135 for a 50 minute massage (of course they give you a $40 coupon, but still). The quality was not any better than what i've received for the standard rates. Lastly, the tequila tasting was great; however, they pitched their top shelf bottle to be on sale for $30--that "it sells for $200 in the U.S." NOT--sells for the same cost in the states. I can see us falling for that in town, but I did not expect to be mislead on the hotel's property where everything is monitored so closely for the visitors. Amazing place, amazing value, and friendly staff, but several things left a bad taste in our mouth so we will probably try somewhere new next year outside of Mexico.

This is the second time for me at this property. Great experience overall. Did not opt for the upgrade to the tower. Helpful staff and pretty good food for an all inclusive resort. The only shortcoming is that the main tower rooms badly need to be update.

This hotel has a private well maintained sandy beach (no rocks and pebbles like the other PV beaches). Excellent friendly staff (except front desk). The hotel needs updating - the furniture are dated with lots of broken lounges in swimming pool deck and noisy air conditioning, but is generally clean though there are bad smells from time to time. Food is good but be prepared to wait (sometimes 25-45 minutes) since there is no reservation. Wait staff really tries hard and deserve your tips.

It was a nice hotel, though the food was really not that great. There was the average meal that was decent, but for the most part it did not fulfill the 4 star expectation. The price that we paid was more suited towards a 5 star for one week in Mexico, especially P.V. The hotel is quite small, which was nice and the beach is really private and secluded. The entertainment was also a little disappointing. It seemed to have a great kids club, though we did not travel with our kids.

Good and unlimited food selection, especially at breakfast. Beach area is nice. Some waiting to get into the different restaurants. Not a good place for those going to sleep early since there is loud band music till 10PM or later. The gym has old and limited equipment. Have to pay dearly for WiFi and internet. But, all totaled, a nice place.

Very good hotel, staff is very friendly. Large variety of food and drink to satisfy everyone. The hotel has a number of things to keep you active or you can just sit and relax on the beach.

The employees at Dreams in PV (not on the main strip - the older one) at Playa Las Estacas work VERY, VERY hard to make this the best and most relaxing vacation you'll ever experience. The food is more than the typical buffet, with at least four "on site" additional gourmet restaurants to dine in and still part of your "all inclusive" price. All of the staff was very friendly. Located right on a pristine secluded beach and "gated" security. We would recommend it to all of our friends.

My son said it was his best vacation ever... Hard to disagree with him.. And having a private beach in Peurto Vallatra you dont get bothered.. Just avoid the sales pitch for the Preference club it is a waste of time. Dont book any activities on line they are much cheaper on land and dont bother booking transfers a taxi will cost you 10% of what you can book here.

We went to P.V. for a wedding that was held at a rental home. The other guests all discussed their accommodations, and it sounded like our Resort had it all. The number of choices for dining were great. The service was outstanding. Often we would be walking to the beach and someone would remind us of interesting activities. We participated in yoga on the beach, rock climbing, and kayaking. The all-inclusive was amazing. We upgraded to the premiere tower, and it was completely worth it.

We have be going to Dreams Puerto Vallarta every October for the last 6 years and are never disappointed. The resort staff is amazing. We prefer to upgrade to the Club Tower as the rooms are stunning. No matter which tower you stay in, you are going to have a great time. There are a variety of restaurant options, and if you don't feel like leaving your room to eat, room service is part of the all-inclusive as well. Spa services were great as well. We look forward to returning soon.
