Dream Downtown Hotel New York Guest Reviews
It will remind you much of the Gansevoort. Contemporary, trendy, stylish. The rooms were very comfortable. The Lobby/Marble Room area is fantastic. PhD has a great view of the city, but very pricey drinks with an uninspiring dj that caters to the decadent, meatpacking type. Great hotel, but avoid the rooftop.

Although the accommodations at the Dream Hotel was small, it was adequate and in a great location. However, a stained towel was a turn-off. It's very trendy and has a vibrant atmosphere in the evening. Staying at a hotel is not only about the amenities, but also about the experience. While the day began beautifully like a "Dream", the night ended on a sour note, like a "Nightmare"! The huge downside was that Hotel Guests are not treated appropriately by the "Doorman" (Alex) for access to the Penthouse lounge area. The requirements for access to the Penthouse Lounge are not clearly communicated nor applied fairly among guests. It's purely based on whether the "Doorman" feels like letting you in who by the way was very disrespectful and also made threats to hotel guests. Not a great way to end the evening! Although a complaint was lodged at the hotel that evening and the following morning, no credible recourse or action was taken. Hence, it fell on deaf ears. While the Penthouse Lounge is managed separately from the Dream Hotel, executives of the hotel should know how their guests are being treated by employees of their partner, Penthouse Lounge. Such behavior can only be bad for business. For my next stay in NYC in the same area, I plan to try the Gansevoort Hotel which is right around the corner from the Dream Hotel. Again, it's all about the experience!!!

I stayed at the new Dream Hotel Downtown. I must say for the 6 weeks it has been open it was lovely. It is in a GREAT area the meat packing district and was young, fun and hip. The pool reminded me of a Miami pool which I loved and was very relaxing. The staff was on it at the pool area!! The rooms are small but great! I didn't love the shower (water pressure terrible) and the mechanics of the room still need to be worked out, but all in all you def want to stay at the DREAM Downtown for a nice getaway to NYC. Another aspect that I didn't love is that if you want to go to the lounge (and you are a hotel guest) you would have to wait in line. Which makes no sense-they should at least have a priority system going on for hotel guests at least if we are paying that much money you should be able to have some sort of jump of the line pass or priority over local customers who go to lounge. All in all, I LOVED this hotel and it is a must to stay there if you are in NYC or planning a fun little vaca to the city for 4 nights or so.

Common areas and rooms were beautiful as were the clientele. Best for the young, stylish crowd. Lounge was accessible only to a select few. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
