The D'Oriental is located in the China Town Petaling Street Markets, you access it via Petaling Street and have to walk through the markets, regardless of whether they are busy or not. So it is recommended to access the hotel for check-in in the mornings to early afternoon, otherwise the street stalls become an obstruction to access. Aside from this, the location would be good as it is very central to some important attractions of KL. It is otherwise a hotel for the basic and modest traveller, nothing fancy. They have complimentary wireless internet available on a daily basis - this is very good. Some items that might be desirable to a basic traveller - especially being so close to the markets are : 1. Empty but functional bar fridge 2. Kettle and Cups for making cups of tea or coffee. 3. Small wardrobe - if it can be made to fit. The breakfast in-house was basic. In any case, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to others of similar modest means.

This is the third time I live there and recommend it. The rooms are small, but very central location. Free internet in the room is a plus.

We prefer this hotel to our previous ones in Kuala Lumpur despite that we had bed bugs and had to change the room twice. But the management was very concerned about our complaint and took the necessary measures.
