Dorado Pacifico Beach Resort Ixtapa Guest Reviews
They made us feel like we were in jail. We stayed for New Year eve. Tons of security people, constantly asking the room number. I don't even want to mention the troubles we had when we were signing out. Just stay away espessially on New Year holidays. Well the website Ratestogo also gave us surprise with our reservation when sent us email 3 days before check in about hotel raising the rates almost 4 times. Nice ah! Well, at the end of phone calls and emails the Ratestogo paid the difference, but that was not fun. So we don't deal with Dorado and Ratestogo anymore.

First off I would like to say how great the staff was at this hotel. The employees work hard to make sure everyone is happy at all times. I was very happy with each staff member I came in contact with. The hotel is very clean and the amenities are plentiful. The beds are not the best (I haven't found one in Mexico that is good yet)! The hotel gets a little loud in the evening, but that is pretty standard for the Ixtapa area. We really enjoyed the swim up bar, and the pool area in general. My only complaint about the area, is that it would be nice if they would keep children out of the swim up bar area. The food is O.K., but nothing extraordinary. Blue water grill was our favorite restaurant in the hotel. Good steaks and veggies. All in all it was a great stay and we would consider going back if we were looking for an all inclusive hotel.

The hotel is under rennovation which meant the days were very noisy. They also changed management on Nov 1 so employees were learning new processes when we arrived on Nov 11. Very noisy at night - parties went on until 3-4 in the morning. They are changing to all inclusive which I do not care for as I'd rather meet and eat at the local establishments. The staff is wonderful - especially the activity directors Salvador and Alberto - played lots of pool vollyball. Tequilla tasting was great too with Carlos. Once the reno's are done this will be a great place to stay. Except for the all inclusive which is a deal breaker for me.

Not too fond of the lunch menu at the pool. Hot dogs, hamburgers, nacho's & french fries....that's it! Our room air conditioner was not working very properly, never got cool. Hotel was under construction, noisy from early am till late in the evening. Explorer for the kids was only partial operational.

The hotel is being updated and is in the process of going all inclusive. The remodeling is a big upgrade to the hotel. The staff is as good as it gets anywhere. They are cordial, polite, helpful and courteous. We stayed before the remodeling was done but looks very interesting. New spa, restaurants, and many more amenities.
