Domus Sessoriana Hotel Rome
4 out of 5

I was amazed that for something as 30 euro this hotel was to be booked (november 2011). Ex-monastery with so nice details (floors, tiles), nice view to the whole 5th century or something complex and the San Giovanni.

This is a brilliant hotel for the price, with the added bonus that it is in an amazing landmark building. The rooms are very clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and very tasty indeed. The location is excellent being only a few minutes walk from the metro and there is a bus stop right outside. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are spotless and tastefully decorated and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The location for us was fine, being right next to a bus stop and within a 15 minute walk of the metro station. Various interesting sites very close by, and the church forming part of the hotel complex itself was amazing. Unlike some other reviewers, I found the breakfast selection to be perfectly adequate and plentiful. My only gripe was the air conditioning, which in our room (a quaint attic room with wood beams but a heat absorbing tiled roof above) was hopeless, and the fan provided just shifted the hot air about. The TV was also very small making it hard to see from the bed but we didn't go on holiday to watch TV so it was not an issue. Mini bar prices were quite reasonable for a hotel too. Would defintely use this hotel again.

slightly out of the way, maybe 20min walk from the train station. Hard to notice from the roads due to being inside a church, Very clean and tidy, friendly service, good value, would stay again.

Very nice Hotel near to Bus Line 3 (50m) and Metro Red Line(600m). Very clean Hotel and very good service from the front desk. Breakfast typical Italian, plain and simple but there is always enough to take from. Every day the rooms are cleaned and you get fresh towels. We were very satisfied with our stay.

Hotel was exactly as described in [your site]. Good Location, well kept, quiet, clean facility top that off with its incredibly friendly staff. Cold buffet breakfast could use a little more imagination though - but not a deal breaker at all. Enjoyed my stay and would recommend to friends.

The hotel was a wonderful looking building and as part of a monastery made it very special, the breakfast was good but the rooms are very basic, but worth staying in.

We enjoyed the stay in this hotel very much, the best we liked were nice and authentic interiors and much space. As for location it was about 30 min to Colosseum by foot and it was a bit tireng sometimes.

The front desk personnel were awesome! The breakfast was far better than the other hotel we stayed in. I would stay here everytime I would visit Rome!

Very interesting place to stay. It was further to walk with our backpacks & suitcases from the railway station than expected. Room was larger enough to accommodate four adults. Very close to several restaurants and points of interest. The only negatives would be the noise from the lift well and the poor drainage in the shower. We would all return and recommend.

We liked staying at the hotel very much! It was really clean, the staff was very helpful, the breakfast was more than ok. Only in the evening you have to be careful that you get back on time because the public transport stops urly and the hotel is a little bit out of the center. But ofcourse you could take a taxi...(which is expensive )

An extremely interesting old roman building and part basillica with a lot of character. Staff were very helpful.

The 3-bed room we stayed in was rather small with less than expected bed comfort. As this is a monastery the facilities are frugal but not more so than would be expected in such an institution. The building in itself is worth a visit

Certainly a hotel with atmosphere, it is part of a monastry which has testefully converted. We would recommend the three day travel card available from the hotel (and the no.3 bus which runs frequently outside the hotel) - it's really good value if you want to explore. The little museum for musical instruments behind the hotel is worth a visit.
