Diehls Hotel Koblenz Guest Reviews
It was a very nice cosy hotel, we did not have any problems with the train noise. The breakfast is good as well with the good choice of fruits and ham.

A very retro hotel - and this isn't due to design - it is in need of modernisation. The hotel backs onto a railway line which is in operation throughout the night and is noisy. The hotel is situated across the river and looks out at Koblenz, the ferry shuttle finishes at 6pm, which means a reasnable taxi journey back to the hotel. Breakfast is not included in the room rate, the evening meals in the hotel was of a good standard though the choice was a little limited.

This is an excellent hotel. However most rooms are not air conditioned. I had to pay an extra 10 euro to have an air conditioned room. Its location is not optimal. It is located on a narrow strip of land between the hill and the river, on which there is a road and a railroad. The railroad track with a very busy traffic along the Rhine valley. At the reception desk, noise and vibrations due to trains are quite annoying. Much less so in the rooms-- at least in mine --where just a slight vibration can be noticed. The location has a positive side which is the view of Koblenz on the other side of the Rhine. The negative side is that it is far from the city. The closest bridge being 500 m away, one has to take a ferry to go to the city. All in all it was a good experience. The hotel staff is quite welcoming and speaks good English. The restaurant food is excellent and buffet breakfasts are good and copious
