Deste Hotel Rome Guest Reviews
A good budget hotel in a convenient location. Within 5mins of Termini Station but beyond the sleazier streets and within walking distance of the Colliseum and Forum. 100 metres from St Maria Maggiore and Victor Emannuelle Metro. Large clean room with ensuite bath/shower in separate room. The Cold Buffet breakfast had a reasonable choice and you can fill up. Coffee etc came from a machine. Our room fronted the street and while not very busy car noise at night would be a problem for light sleepers. Lobby lacked facilities and staff were efficient but not terribly friendly. Good value for what we paid.

The lounge suit in the lobby was very filthy so was the blanket and the bed cover, but the sheet was replaced every 2nd day and was clean. The day shift personel, Giovani, was extremely nice and very helpful. Wi-fi was free, but could only be accessed from the lobby. This hotel needs to be refurbished but still keep it's classic style otherwise I'll have to think twice before going there again.

Charming little hotel in a great location - our room was surprisingly large for a European hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel was good for the price. Location was excellent as it was very close to the train station. Not impressed with the hotel staff when I asked if there is a train to the airport. Told me they have a shuttle service which for 3 of us was 45 EUR. Being only two blocks away from the station 22 EUR for the train was a better option for us. Lonely Planet said staff was eager to please but we saw no evidence of that. On the plus side they had great maps of Rome readily available (but most hotels do) and the water from the tap was always nice and cold so drinking water was always readily available. Breakfast was average.

If all you need is a bed and shower nothing to fancy this place is okay but it smells a bit mouldy. They serve a good breakfast and it's near restaurants.
