Very good impression. Two things I would personally wish to improve: Wi-Fi not always available from the room. The price could be somewhat less in the low season ))

The De Rose Palace Hotel was lovely to stay in, approx a 15 min walk to the city centre along the river. We chose to walk from the railway station when we should perhaps have taken a taxi - the streets aren't clearly marked and what should have taken us about 10 minutes took almost an hour and half as we turned slightly before we should have and misunderstood directions from the soldiers at the american embassy (it's only 30 seconds from here!) The room was clean although the bathroom, whilst being a decent size, had very fine mould over all the walls which also gave a slight musty smell. Breakfast was good, typical european, cold meats, cheese, cereal, yoghurt, croissants - americano coffee was NOT nice! should have stuck to the cappucino!

Hotel should hold a number of customer parking permits to enable travellers with vehicles to park near hotel as we did in Pisa. The cost of parking in a special garage is expensive and travel insurance does not cover vehicles parked off the street.

Got a last minute rate of 85EU on this hotel. LOVED the location, literally 3 mintes walking to downtown Florence area. Also, loved that the TV had channels that could be in Italian or English (not that i was sitting in my room watching tons of TV ;) Wireless internet worked good -- had to pay for this service, but very reasonable. Would love to stay here again.
