Slightly on the expensive side, but that is Saint-Malo. The decor of the room was pleasant. The bathtub was big enough. The level of cleanliness is acceptable, but there is room for improvement. The breakfast was decent. Pleasant memories.

This hotel looks big, but only has 80 rooms, and the service is outstanding. I would recommend it to all my friends.

Excellent standard of room and service. Drawbacks: 1. Limited parking so had to park in public carpark outside old town and walk to hotel (not far).I believe other hotels in St Malo are similar as old town is largely pedestrianised. 2. Our room had excellent view over main pedestrian square, but this meant it was very busy until late, then there was noise from restaurants clearing up very late and noise started again very early next morning. Summary: Excellent hotel but next time we would ask for a room at back of hotel away from public noise.

May wife and I stayed at this lovely hotel for two nights for my 64th birthday. The room we had only looked out over the roof of the reception area but it was a nice size with a lovely bathroom. It was very quiet and we slept well. The hotel is in such a prime position for the St Malo facilities being right in the main square. The staff were excellent and the restuarant + breakfast superb. We had my birthday meal there and the restaurant staff were brilliant. They could not do enough for us. They actually gave me a small present and lit a very large sparkler candle after our meal...... we had a lot of laughs over it! There was also a duo playing very nice music and the lady singer sang beautifully - well Chateaubriand and thank you for a great stay. We would without any hesitation stay there again and looking forwards to it.

This is a hotel that has character and is good value for money. The family rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location within the walls is good, near the action but not as noisy late at night as in the narrower streets. We have stayed as a family and as a couple and will no doubt visit again.

The Hotel was clean and the staff welcoming. We loved the large room which faced the sea and city walls. It was spacious and comfortable with the unexpected luxury of a jacuzzi bath. There was ample storge space and most facilities that you would expect, except for those to make tea/coffee. The restaurant fronted a square in the old town where various street entertainers regularly performed, giving the whole area a special ambience. Would certainly go back again.

Excelent Hotel to stay at for everything - A typical tourist hotel in a tourist area so restaurants in the area are a little pricey but apart from that absolutely excelent. Be sure if you stay there that it is summer months as if wet & cold would be a different storey.

Hotel is in excellent location in old town (Intra Muros) - full of character & atmosphere. Access by car in the summer is difficult though, as there is a one way system in operation in the old town (you go in one gate & out the other). However, there is a car park just outside the city walls, and if you park there it is only a few minutes' walk to the hotel, which is much easier. The hotel is ideal as an overnight stop before catching the cross-channel ferry, as the ferry port is only a few minutes' drive away.

We suffered a certain amount of noise from the ground floor restaurant in the evening , and - late-night/early morning - from what sounded like large doors opening and shutting, or bins being emptied. Choice of TV stations very limited

Our second stay at this charming hotel. A little noisy during the day due to renovation work. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good. Would return again

This hotel definitely deserves better than two star rating. We arrived early morning too early to move into our room and enquired if we could have a sea view. The absolutely charming reception girl took a quick look and said she had just the thing. It turned out to be a large corner room on the third floor facing two directions overlooking the city ramparts full of relaxing locals, the beach below and out to a fortified island connected by sand at low tide,a floor show at high tide as the unwary trapped by the sea made their way back through chest-high water. Most reluctant to tear ourselves away from our wonderful view to pig ourselves in the surrounding sea food restaurants. Furnishings old and occasionally rickety, bath no shower, but full of character.

The hotel has excellent rooms and many of lesser quality. We were lucky to get a topfloor corner room, with an excellent view. (The other side of the corridor rooms just looked on the rooftops). The shower though was so economically measured that one could hard move in it. The restaurant is beautifull (oldy-worldy) but the rather pricy food was average. (Very much like the saying on the French kitchen: "hot plates, cold food"). Breakfastbuffet was great, with freshly sqeezed orange juice (done by a machine on the spot)
