Days Inn Chicago North Lake Bluff Guest Reviews
Thought it was fairly good until I was charged for a night I did not stay. Have not been able to get that charge removed from the credit card. Given the run a round for months. Smells like fraud. Keep your records but still the manager refuses to take care of it. Probably need to use our pre-paid legal person. Too bad they do not seem to be able to be honest about their mistake. The manager is Mike and he has been dragging his feet on this.

I was in one of the older units of the motel. I was offered an free upgrade, but found the older unit more than adequate for my needs. It is not a fancy motel, but it was scrupulously clean and well-kept. The staff was friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. The location is near major highways but distant enough there is not a lot of noise. If you're going to Rosalind Franklin Medical Center or the nearby Navy base, it is a perfect setting. Overall, it was a great stay for a business trip and a good value. It would probably not be a selection if I had been looking for a place close to Chicago sights, but it was perfect for business in that area.

Not at all what EHow said it was. If you read about the motel at EHow.com. They said Quote from Ehow.com Days Inn Great Lakes - North Chicago Days Inn North Chicago is a motel situated within walking distance of the Great Lakes Naval Training Center. The motel's amenities include a hot tub, a swimming pool, high-speed Internet and a complimentary breakfast. All rooms offer a television with cable connection, a telephone, a kitchenette and an en suite bathroom with a tub and shower and hair drying and ironing facilities. Additional motel amenities are a 24-hour front desk, free parking and a newly renovated breakfast area. Days Inn Great Lakes - North Chicago 3000 Highway 41 Highway 137 & 41 Chicago, IL 60064 847-887-9000 No hot tub, no swimming pool, no kitchenette, the high speed internet was spacy at times, had to keep reconnecting to the WiFi.The heater in the room was either on or off, the adjustment knobs didn't work. The lock on the back door near our room was broken, which would have made it easy for anyone to enter without alerting the front desk. However the staff was very friendly. Overall, I would rate this motel as a 2 out of 10. If it were the last place to stay, I wouldn't!!!

I stayed the weekend at the Days Inn to get married to my other half in the navy. I needed an early check-in and a late check-out, which were accommodated after some goading. I had to talk to two different people to get checked-in early, I got there around 10AM just because that's when my flight got in and they don't usually let people check-in until 3PM. For a little while there I was afraid I'd have to sit in the lobby for a few hours after an extremely early morning. They ended up charging me $30 for early check-in, which was okay because it WAS a Friday morning and the rooms are limited. The rooms are pretty big and well-furnished. Much nicer than most hotel rooms I've stayed in. Their TV service/wifi was a little spotty sometimes, but there were a lot more channels to choose from which was really nice. My only real complaint was that when I wanted to check-out late, they did charge me another $30. Originally they tried to charge me $50, the second time I talked to someone she said $25, and then when I was actually going to pay for it they said, "No, $30." That was on a Monday afternoon when I really doubt business was booming, so there was no real reason for them to charge me extra yet again. My cab was also outside waiting for me and there was no one at the front desk for the longest time. I rang the bell obnoxiously and even had to shout for someone, even though I passed/directly looked at the girl that eventually checked me out. Aside from the check-in/check-out silliness, the hotel was a good value for how nice the rooms were. And it's right next to a gas station, Subway, McDonalds, and across the street from a nice diner. So you don't even have to go far for food/ATM. If you're visiting someone at the navy base or attending a graduation, this is a great place to stay. When I went to my now-husband's graduation in September I stayed at Sleep Inn and didn't love their service or rooms. The Days Inn was much nicer overall.

I was extremely grossed out with this hotel. Good thing the price was right, although I was itching to just loose the money and go to another hotel. I managed to survive the one night though. There were old disgusting carpets, a stained chair, TV with a double image, and the room/hotel smelled nasty (likely a smokers room at one time, although I asked for non-smoking). Furthermore, the back door did not lock from the parking lot, although I was "reassured there were cameras". The "business center" smelled of paint fumes and the hotel wanted to charge $1 per print and $4 for 15 min of use.
