We had a layover at Stansted overnight since we'd miss the train - so we just needed a cheap place to crash and it was everything we needed. A bed, a bathroom, fresh towels, and tea and coffee in the room to boot. Not much to complain about - they even had a really fancy looking water dispenser out in the lobby.

I have stayed with with Days at Stansted before, but will not stay again. A "mafia" style taxi system is now in place at a cost of £10 each way to or from the hotel with no other options. This would be ok if sharing with others but this is almost impossible unless you are travelling in a group. The hotel itself is cheap and cheerful, lovely staff, secure and close to shops and services but simply not worth it when you have to pay 50% of your stay price to travel a few minutes by taxi. Stansted is taking advantage here, my best advice if in a small group <4 would not stay here as any savings will be lost in the taxi cost

Clean , good service , close to airport for an overnight stay, no restaurant but big roadside service station restaurant next door so no problem.
