We came to Amherst to visit Oberlin College, and didn't know the area at all. We figured Days Inn would be inexpensive and a respectable place to stay. This turned out to be the absolute worst hotel we've ever been in. Not a single blade of grass or plant in sight, in ugly strip of shops and chain restaurants. The hotel is older, and yes, it has been painted, and seems to be clean...but they haven't replaced anything in ages. My mattress was broken, sheets had tears and holes in them. I leaned against the "headboard" (actually just nailed to the wall) and it fell on my head. Towels were removed in the morning, but when we returned at 5:00pm, the room hadn't been cleaned. She came at 5:30, and we said not to bother. We didn't try the breakfast. We tried to get out of this when we arrived, but there were no refunds, since we booked through [...]. We will never book this way again. The Denny's is also very old, unclean, and we left without ordering. Please try somewhere else.

Hotel was fine. It was clean, quiet and allows pets. Staff took care of my problem quickly. I checked in at 2AM and my TV remote control did not work, clerk came up with a new remote and programed it to work with the TV immediately.
