Suited our needs for 1 night but nothing special. Rooms are dated / basic with lots of road noise. Hotel & restaurant downstairs was best part - very friendly. Right in town and price OK.

An Olde Worlde style hotel with delightful interior decor,about 150 years old.Room was rather small and facilities just adequate..I understand that refurbishment has just taken place.Excellent food and very fast service by experienced staff. Front of House Manager most courteous and helpful.Popular with American visitors judging by their numnbers. Downside,location by busy main road and the waterside view of a port that has seen much better days. Parking is a pain and you have to use the car park about 500 yards away next to the Aldi supermarket up the back.Obtain a ticket from reception (5 Euros) valid for entire stay. Drop off place outside for coaches..Would be a struggle for older guests with a car.Although listed by hotel.com there is certainly no sauna or gymnasium on site. If location was different I would recommend this hotel.

Not a bad hotel... and friendly staff. But was woken at 8.30am by a knock on door in error by staff and someone opened the door (staff) 20 minutes later. The hotel seemed to be having some refurbishment on my floor though, as hammering started around 7.30am! Great room though, and lovely breakfast.

breakfast very poor, restaurant staff needs lot of training. lift was out of order! the bar attracts lot of drunks from the outside witch makes the residents feel uncomforteble.
