Darling Towers On Collins

We stayed with our two children in a two bedroom apartment. it was not super big but had plenty of space and we didn't spend much time there anyways. Location is GREAT! Right in the CBD and laneways. The room could use a couple upgrades as far as the look but was completely usable and worked super well. AND the price was fantastic! Parking was a bit tricky as it is not right there and meant we had to do a few trips to/from car with small children or leaving teh car unattended in the alley...but sill wasn't too bad. We will defintiely stay there again!

A little gem right in the heart of Melbourne. This is the second time I've stayed here and will certainly choose it again. Easy to find and very central (a stones throw from the Town Hall). Mostly friendly and very obliging staff (Ben and a young Korean lass whose name began with an 'S', were excellent), however the guy who came on for the night shift needed a personality transplant (but still provided necessary advise). The apartment was large and had everything one would need. A big bath (and shower), comfortable Queen size bed (and a second bedroom with two singles for additional guests). Kitchen facilities include fridge, microwave and coffee making (all provided). A lounge with sofa and chair, plus flat screen TV and a sliding door opening onto a small balcony with table and chairs. The apartments aren't plush and are starting to show a few signs of wear and tear. However they are clean and very competitively priced, making it excellent value for money. Being a low budget hotel, it doesn't have a foyer and a formal reception area (this is located in an office on the 8th floor and is staffed 24 hours), meaning that one has to take the lift to gain entry to the hotel. After-hours access into the building is by an electronic key. None of this is a problem. Not the Hilton, but not the price either and fine by me.

Having read a few negative reviews we were not expecting a lot - however we were pleasantly surprised. We had requested a quiet room and that is more or less what we got (it is central city after all) - and it was reasonably clean, reasonably big and reasonably well equipped. The bed was very firm but we slept well - the room looks tired but it is not claiming to be 5 star. The staff were fine. We had a very pleasant four days and would use this again.

The room was perfectly comfortable and clean. It was totally suitable for my overnighter but overall rating suffered because of the stained carpet, damaged door handle and damaged wooden floor. Noisy tram stop in street outside but ear plugs fixed that. I would use again but insist on room away from street. However trams were very convenient in a.m.

These apartments are conveniently located in the cbd. They are somewhat tired, with the front door handle to our apartment loose, toilet would get stuck, there was black mold on the tiles around the bath, the shower head was loose. Fairly noisy location if your room fronts the road. The cost of good if you want a cheap room, however we have had equalent value with better quality in Melbourne before. How we stay there again, no.

I was upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment. More than adequate. Room was comfortable and fine - no complaints. Fantastic value for money considering the location right in central Melbourne. Recommended if you are not looking for 5 star, have a budget to watch and want to be in the central city.

In a great location with easy walking distance to most popular city locations. Staff friendly and helpful. We happily stayed here 8 years ago but found this time round that the place is very very tired with a great need for a makeover and/or a good scrub. The room we had was sufficient for a quick one night stay at a very reasonable price with not much time spent in room but found some things broken and beds very uncomfortable.

We have just returned from a three night stay. The location couldn't have been better for us as it was short walking distance to trams, trains, shops, restaurants and theatres. We were able to walk to dinner then to a theatre and stop for coffee on the way back all in the space of a few blocks.Perfect position. The apartment was comfortable with everything that we needed. Coffee shops right at the door were great. We would definitely stay here again on future visits to Melbourne.

First apartment I was presented with was mouldy and smelly so I requested a new room (it happened I had booked two rooms and didn't need the second) so they moved me into the second room. I hope they sort out the mould issues because I wonder if they would have found me a non-mouldy room had I not already booked the second. There is some construction work in the lower levels but didn't annoy too much. There is no breakfast or facilities however you have full kitchen in the apartment. Price and location are great, I paid under $100 per night and it is right in the city. I recommend the hotel so long as you get a non-mouldy room

great location, all room amenities good once I found the cups and glasses in a corner cupboard. Corridors need a coat of paint, but rooms themselves in good shape. Room floors need a coat of lacquer or some sprucing up.

Perfect central location, we had two different rooms as we traveled out of the area for a few days. Both rooms were well appointed with full kitchens, one with full balcony the other with sliding door to outside but no actually balcony - great to have.Good indiviual room controlled heating/air con.. Basic bathrooms with shower over bath and toilet included - soap dish for the hand basin needed (saucer worked though). Generally cleanliness ok, just needs a good "spring clean"! Will use them again.

sorry to say after reading other reviews i was expecting somthing special. the access to the room needs updating and a lot of tidy up. the room itself was ok, but not as clean as what it could have been. the staff however were great. but not good to see everyone's luggage behind the check in desk. i would not stay again.

Located on Collins St, the Apartment is close to nearly everything. The hotel staff could be more friendly and helpful, but with the cost per night for a centel Melbourne location, I wouldn't complain too much. Internet access is quite expensive, worth to try the Stubucks around the corner.

This hotel ticked all the boxes for us. The location was fantastic, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and unbelievably quiet! The reception were polite and very helpful. As I need to stay in Melb fairly frequently, I will certainly be staying here.
