Damai Beach Resort Kuching Guest Reviews
House keeping could pay more attention to detail in their work. My otherwise clean room had sand in the bed upon arrival. Each day accessories were not replaced ( towels, or toiletries, or coffee sachets etc). It was never all of them but each day it was one or two of them. Restaraunt option are very limited, and the daily buffet dinner is over priced. Staff were very friendly and always engaging. The internet access is very limited and way too public to do internet banking or any other private things. There are 2 terminals in the middle of the reception foyer/ thorough-fare through the whole complex

Food at the hotel was not up to standard and service in the coffee house was deplorable!

Staff were generally polite but not forthcoming. Housekeeping service were very slow, we were rained in but a request for umbrellas had us waiting for half an hour without a follow up phone call to say why they hadn''t come. The brollies never came, we had to brave the rain.

Our seaside chalet room was clean but somewhat shabby, in need of upgrade. Beach was littered. Grounds uninterestingly landscaped. Beach sports not promoted, visible. Food in the cafe was dull, not enough local fare offered/promoted. Would not have enticed the less adventurous to sample. Hotel was filled to bursting by large noisy local Chinese clans over the weekend.

After a first visit in 2002, we recognised that the balcony rooms have been renovated and are now a very good value. We had - after an accident - the opportunity to get a very good medical service through the nurse of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. During weekdays this hotel is a very good value. It may be crowded on weekends. You can also use the services of a neighbouring hotel as they have the same owner. But no other choice of shops or other Restaurants from 1km around. We will come again although this hotel is 35 minutes from Kuching.
