My daughter chose this hotel for its neighborhood, and for its distinctive, intimate nature and we were pleased. It was a pleasant walk to the Opera and to Central park, had many small, interesting restaurants nearby, a garage very close (with discount for the hotel), and always someone gracious on duty at the front desk. With just two dozen rooms it was quiet and homey. The room was small and our view just a peek toward the street and skyline, but it met our needs. The bathroom was very nice, all in perfect condition and clean. There was a little Italian Restaurant in the basement level, which we enjoyed. Cost seemed a bit high there, but the hotel gives a 15 percent discount at that location. The only negative during our two night stay was that the room was very hot and we could not find a way to adjust the heat. (finally cracked the window for relief). BUT when I mentioned this on departure I was told there was a way we could have turned off the heat. The management has plans to provide an information book in each room in the near future, which will include info about adjusting the heat and other helpful info. We enjoyed an inexpensive, enjoyable meal another night at a nearby Cuban restaurant, and loved a small bookstore on a nearby parallel street. We recommend this as a nice neighborhood and good value.

receptive staff, essentially comfortable rooms, great restaurant located on property, and most of all, convenient to virtually all mid-town activities (theatre, museums, restaurants, etc.) Highly recommend to visitors to The City.

Stayed for one Saturday night. Small, but efficiently laid out lobby. Narrow hallways, but large (for Manhattan) elevator. Room (at least mine) was typical Manhattan tiny, but with 13ft ceilings, felt larger than it was. Bathroom was small but full of high-end fixtures and marble tiles everywhere. Closet space was almost non-existent (a tall armoire) which was not an issue for me, since I didn't even unpack my luggage. Bed was comfortable, and linens were clean and soft. Small writing desk, chair, night stand with alarm clock and lamp, and a wall-hanging LCD TV made the content of the rest of the room. The window mounted heather/AC seemed to work. It was ~10F outside. A light continental breakfast served in the lobby was nice. Only the lack of some type of juice kept it from being ideal. The two free PC's for internet use in the lobby was also a plus. I'd definitely stay again for 1~2 nights.

This European-style boutique hotel is very clean, nice rooms that aren't insanely small, good bed, and free internet that works, all in a central location. I liked it! Can't think of one negative thing to say about it. There's a nice bar downstairs where you can meet some nice locals.
