Cesky Krumlov Hotels

Cesky Krumlov is a bona fide amalgam of the best of Prague under shrink-wrap. The old town is the most popular destination in the country after the seductive capital, with a lovely ensemble of landmarks to explore. Like Ceske Budovice, the Vltava River is the lifeblood of the town, despite occasional floods, and accents a gorgeous landscape. Cesky Krumlov Castle is the dominant, most conspicuous feature here and indeed, the old town was built up outside the compound walls from the 13^th century on. Only Praha’s own UNESCO World Heritage Castle District outstrips Cesky Krumlov’s in the Czech Republic, which, for this small town, is a remarkable contrivance of history. Other points of interest do abound however and include the macabre Museum of Torture, House of Renaissance architect and engineer Jakub Krcin and a fabulous sudsy shrine in the Pivovar Eggenberg Brewery.
