Favourite Cities and Hotels in Cyprus

Protaras is a major tourist resort area in the Republic of Cyprus. The Mediterranean island off the coasts of Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and Israel is per capita of course, one of the most popular holiday destinations on the planet. Millions escape to Cyprus every year to bask under the sun, participate in water sports, ski on Mount Olympus, indulge in notoriously decadent and nocturnal nightlife and yes, enjoy the occasional museum and UNESCO World Heritage Site. From cosmopolitan capital Nicosia to resort hub Ayia Napa, Cyprus has a wealth of charm.

Without question, charm describes the convivial resort town of Protaras. Popular with international visitors who want a fun Mediterranean experience on the coast, the Paralimini, Famagusta District destination in southeast Cyprus has affordable hotels, good restaurants and vibrant cafés. Fig Tree Bay beach in Protaras is a Cyprus hot spot and a perfect place to swim or unwind with a good book. Suitable for parents with children in tow or even young singles, the Blue Flag beach is just off Cape Greco, one of the most picturesque natural landmarks on Cyprus. While party animals may have to venture to nearby Ayia Napa for epic nightlife, Protaras has no shortage of traditional Cypriot taverns, quality restaurants and lively pubs.
