Crowne Plaza Hotel The Hamilton - Washington DC
3 out of 5

We had a long trip by train to dc. I had emailed them earlier to inform them of a late check in. We had booked a king room and upon entering room discovered it only had a double bed. After long trip we decided to sort it out in the morning and upon showing them my booking for a king room, they informed me they had none left so therefor I had been given a 'park view' room as compensation. Very disappointed that we were not informed of this on arrival and that we did not get what we had booked. Oh and the 'park view' is not much especially as it is home to large population of homeless people. Location not too bad in terms of being able to walk to national mall but not many restaurants etc close by to hotel for evening meal though hotel restaurant quite nice and Starbucks downstairs is a bonus.

The staff at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza were very welcoming and extremely helpful. The electricity in our room was shut off and when we called the front desk a maintenance rep was at our door within 10 minutes. He had power back on in a minute (tripped fuse box). The staff were very helpful in recommending restaurants during our weekend visit and we were not disappointed with their recommendations. We will definitely stay at Hamilton Crowne Plaza again! Awesome weekend. E. Burke Bakersfield, CA

Had another great stay at The Hamilton. We appreciated it's close proximity to the Metro and many major sight seeing locations. The staff is always thorough and helpful.

The location is in walking distance of great restaurants and clubs. A short cab ride to Georgetown. Innocent Chesang (hotel concierge) was fabulous. Yes, he's name is Innocent and he says he's the only innocent man in D.C. :)

Location was great. Just 1 block from metro. And short walk to tourist spots. Was expecting more comfortable bedding. Safe used lock and key which I thought was archaic especially as I was trying to minimize items I took out with me.

This hotel was great, very convenient for our stay in DC - many places walkable, Metro down the street. Our room was nice, very quiet, kept very clean. Only problem was slow internet, they need more bandwidth. Concierge & staff very nice and helpful. We did everything! - visited the White House (arranged through our congressional rep 7 months in advance), the Capitol, Old Town Trolley Tour- both loops, Ford's Theatre, several Smithsonians, Foundry UMC, National Cathedral closed for repairs unfortunately. First time in DC & we loved it.

We loved the hotel and it's staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpfull. The only thing I wish we had while we were there for a week was a refridgerator but everything else was great.

The hotel is definitely a gem with great interiors and architecture. Compared to your average hotel, this was a really nice set up. The staff was very nice and attentive to our needs. The rooms (a little small) were gorgeously designed. The only negative critique I have is that the walls are extremely thin. We were able to hear conversations from our next door neighbors, and people outside our door. The floors were also old as we heard stomping from upstairs.

If you plan on a trip to DC for pleasure or business, need a nice downtown location near a metro, this may be the one for you. I'm in a wheelchair and came to DC for pleasure and enjoyed using the Metro to get to the National Mall for all the memorials and museums. The hotel was nicely decorated and a decent size room for a wheel chair accessible room. The service is great. Greater nicely by everyone and they always try to assist me with doors and luggage since I'm in a wheelchair, even though I don't need it. My only complaint was the wheelchair accessible shower. It's a nice roll in shower but the way they positioned the fold down seat, you were facing away from the shower head. So all the controls were behind me and the shower head would spray my back. Also try the 14k restaurant in the hotel. It was delicious and again, courteous staff was ready to serve you.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant served good breakfasts and one dinner, the room was clean, and the maid service was efficient. Our only negative was that the elevator service was very slow, probably due to keeping at least two of the four off-line to save energy.

When we first arrived the staff was rude. We have a turtle top on our suv and they told us they could not park it. Take the top off (not easy) or park it on the street and put coins in the meter. The woman was so rude. Eventually they found a lot for us to park and they said they for pay the parking. They did not.
