Crowne Plaza Hotel Orlando-Downtown Guest Reviews
The hotel was in a horrible location. There was a train that went by at all hours of the night honking it's horn. The blinds on our window were broken so we couldn't properly close them to keep the sun out in the morning. Needless to say, we got NO SLEEP. It should have been a sign when we arrived and saw ear-plugs and eye masks laying on our beds. :-( The staff was friendly and apologetic, but they would not refund the cost of our room when I told them that we wanted to switch hotels (because we booked it through a 3rd party). They comped my husband and I both one free drink in their bar for the inconvience. This hotel is all of 30-40 minutes from the parks at Disney World...so don't be tricked by there claim of "just 11 miles". Oh, and they charge $10/night for parking...so take that into account before you book your room thinking that you're getting a great deal. After a lot of arm-twisting, the staff finally agreed to wave our parking fees at check-out because of our bad experience. So that helped take some of the sting out of the experience.

The first thing we noticed when we walked in the room was the inviting, comfy looking bed. Outwardly the bed was so inviting with all the pillows and white linen. Inwardly, however, once we pulled the covers back we immediately realized tat the linens where dirty. Hair in the bed, stains on the pillows, the comforter was torn. Thankfully we had our own covers and was able to sleep on those, because we knew they were clean. Day two, as we returned to the hotel for the night, again, no linens changed. Day three, the final straw. My kids go to pull back there covers and they have popcorn in the bed, again NO LINENS CHANGED, and the left a half of a roll of tissue in the bathroom and about five kleenex in a room wit four people. I think this is a over priced Motel . NEVER WILL I VISIT THERE AGAIN!!!

My wife and I shared a room with another couple for the weekend while we were in town for a crossfit competition. At first appearance the hotel seemed nice enough although the room was average size at best with a small bathroom and old shower. Reality set in however when we turned of the tv and tried going to sleep. It sounds like you're sleeping on the highway! The absolutely useless doors (they are locked and can't be opened) to the small outside balcony let in an enormous amount of sound. This is not a good feature considering the hotels location immediately adjacent to I-4 and train tracks. The train horn was a nice touch at 3am. So after the first great night of sleep we head down for a complimentary breakfast at the hotel restaurant before heading to the competition. When we went downstairs to the restaurant, there was no one in sight, no servers, no hostess, no bartender. After standing there for a couple minutes and waiting we went over to the front desk and asked if anyone was around. They took us over and seated us and said that the restaurant person was just taking room service to a room. We said ok and sat down. 15 minutes later, no drinks, still no one around and we were running out of time. We had to make the decision to leave so we wouldn't be late and left without breakfast. I let the concierge know we weren't happy and after 20 minutes of waiting had to leave. The two employees at the desk just looked up at me puzzled and offered no explanation. Absolutely pitiful service, which I'm sure Crown Plaza corporate would be embarrassed to have representing their brand. All in all, it was a big let down and not what we expected from Crown Plaza. I could deal with poor service at the restaurant, but the noise pollution in the room is ridiculous.

Great hotel. There were a few things that needed a little TLC (e.g., some of the blinds were broken and there was a gash on the bathroom vanity). But overall the room was very clean, the staff was friendly, and the location is great for those wanting to be close to downtown!
