Location
The Crowne Plaza Cambridge is located on Downing Street, just a few minutes from Cambridge rail station which links visitors to the closest airport, Stanstead. The hotel is convenient for motorway junctions on the M11 and is just steps from bus stops on St Andrew's Street.

This hotel is very poorly run. You see posters in the hotel advertising that if you don't get your wake-up call on time, your stay is free. But when you try to phone the front desk to place a request for said wake-up call, they simply never answer the phone. I also had a problem with the message system on my phone, & I tried to reach the front desk for 30 min & then called room service & begged them for help. Same story the next night. Never fixed message system, don't really care but un-nerving to have message light blinking & no way to recover poss message when I was assured that they would fix problem. Having a functioning front desk seems to me to be pretty basic for a hotel at this price point. Restaurant the same story: only 2 tables full but 45 min to see any food (items we chose = about 3 min prep time). Individual members of staff very nice, and even helpful, but overall, hotel sorely lacking in administrative functions. Brilliant location, though!

High quality hotel with excellent service and rooms. Located in centre of Cambridge, close to shops and bus terminals, but distant from train station (but most of Cambridge is). Wireless internet was good quality and speed.

Excellent location, you can do everything on foot! The bedroom is spacious and comfortable, but if your english is not good (like mine) the recepcionists stop smile to you at the same time! A good hotel in general, I could be back.

It was a pleasant stay. The double room was spacious and very clean. The location was excellent. A big shopping mall was just around the corner. The only down side is the concierge cheated. They colluded with taxi drivers to charge a significantly-higher-than-market rate.
