Not a nice hotel by any stretch of the imagination. There are many better quality hotels in the area which are better priced too. Dark, grey, gloomy corridoors, dark rooms with horrid views and grubby carpets. Maybe it was just the room I stayed in... maybe it wasn't!

What a great hotel with a touch of luxury. Friendly reception staff. The room was a little warm though. Immaculate room and really great breakfast. Would definitely stay at this hotel if in the area again. Fantastic!!

Stayed 2 nights in a club room. Room was nicely decorated and clean. Club lounge offered complimentary continental breakfast and free use of a internet connected computer. Watch out for the parking charges in the car park below the hotel. Overnight parking fee cost about 13-14 pounds.

Since our last visit there has been a major overall- utter luxury now! The room was gorgeous. Staff were so helpful. Breakfast now only £8 per person- and well worth it. Excellent location for NIA.

The hotel is close to all central places worth a visit (NIA, Bullring, Broad Street etc.). Our room was very nice and the staff were helpful.

Ideally situated for the City Centre, shopping or a nice stroll along the canal for a drink or something to eat. Within walking distance to the NIA.

I expected more from this hotel. I wasn't impressed with checking-in as I was kept waiting for around 20 minutes. The room was clean in general but there were unpleasant marks to be found in the bathroom and on the bed.

The staff were very helpful. A power cut on the first day meant we didn't have any hot water. Rooms very clean and the beds were huge.Would go again.

So pleasantly surprised! Booked this thinking i had booked the Copthornre (my confusion not the web site's), and we got there... twin room was TWO x DOUBLE beds, amazing new bathroom, super clean, gorg bar which opens really late for residents and 2 mins walk from town. will deff stay here again, my top pick for Birmingham - great value for money!

Has undergone an excellent refurb since I last stayed here. Modern, comfortable, 21st century hotel. Highly recommended. Close to city centre (good location) and in keeping with a city on the ascendant.

The hotel was undergoing some renovation work so from the outside it looked a bit grim. However, inside was lovely. Rooms were clean and modern. Could have done with more drawers but that's our only gripe.

The outside of the building is undergoing a major refurb which was worrying, but once inside it was lovely and new and modern. Very impressed.
