The staff were friendly and helpful and , the location excellent. An older style hotel but very good value for money. Would definitely stay there again.

my wife and i had a fantastic stay at this hotel, and considering it was new years eve, we got a very cheap price which included full buffet breakfast and a 20% discount off our dinner which was also sensational. we would have no hesitation in staying there again.

The room i stayed in had a balcony looking over the street. Very convenient location for the shopping district of the Perth CBD. Staff are smiling and friendly, on entry I was given a discount voucher for the Criterion Cafe, had dinner there and the risotto was outstanding. Wifi was not working reliably when i was there.

Hi there, I was very dissapointed with my stay, I landed in Perth at 12.05am, till 4.30am they could not find my reservation, when it was all cleared up, I aked if I could have a late check out, since I wasnt checking in till that time and the room had to vacated at 11am, they said sure that will be an extra $30. Now unfortunatelly I am from the industry and do you know what I would do with a staff member that did that!!!!! Anyway, the room was comfortable but at $188 per night, I am sure I could have done better.

Only stayed for one night bed was a little too soft but room was clean with all amenities needed. Staff were very helpful and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Perfect location easy wlk to shops and entertainment venues or on free bus route. We'd come again the price was definately very good value

The Criterion is a beautiful, old building located right in the CBD of Perth. The rooms are older style but very clean and serviceable. The staff there are very couteous and helpful and there is a excellent restaurant on the ground floor. I like to stay there because it is very central and handy to everything including public transport..

This is definitely very good value for budget accommodation in downtown Perth. Other budget will be at least $120or $140 for single room and even some hostels are not cheap. Service good, the room was spacious and clean, bathroom okay. The lift is a bit small but it is a budget place4. I have tried other mid price hotels and this one represents the best value.

My experience in this hotel was traumatic to say the least. I booked into this hotel based on the glossy pictures I saw online, but as soon as I saw the dingy lobby, I knew I had made a mistake. I checked in nonetheless realising how difficult it can be to get hotel accomodation in Perth. I checked into my room and turned the heating on immediately as it was a cold winter night. After an extremely cold hour I realised the heating was not working, I called reception and was given a small portable ineffective heater. I walked into the bathroom and it stunk really bad, I tried to flush the toilet and it wouldn't flush. As I checked out after 2 days in this horrible tiny room, the receptionist had the nerve to demand that I pay for an extra day because I had stayed 90 minutes past the check out time. Anyway to cut a long story short, my stay in this hotel was horrible and I have stayed in lots of hotels and this is definitely the worst.

Reception Desk helpful on check in and departure , room was a good size clean and tidy. No view from the room as the windows had obscured glass in them , bathroom had a good sized walk in shower but no bath. The room came equiped with the usual mini fridge , kettle , tea and coffee etc. Also a very useful room safe to keep valuables etc. Overall your average Hotel Room close to the Shopping Malls and good value for money.

Close to the shopping centre. Short walk to some attractions (Bell tower, wharfs), slightly longer walk to others. You can use the free CAT buses as needed to get to attractions. Hotel decor needs seriously updating.

Hotels in Perth are all overpriced compared to the rest of Australia. The Criterion is a good solid average Hotel at a reasonable price , the room was a good size , clean and tidy. The bathroom was fully functional with plenty of hot water and a fully enclosed shower ( no bath ). The rooms have solid walls so noise is kept to a minimum , the room had all the normal fittings ie air con , multi channel tv , kettle etc , overall a pleasant stay .

I had doubts because some people sneered at my choice of hotel but it was charming, comfortable, welcoming and exceptional value for money. Centrally located, it was perfect for us. The beds were AMAZING, the room was clean and the towels were big, white and fluffy. Our room had a lovely little balcony overlooking Hay Street. Staff were considerate and quietly spoken, the place was clean and neat with what looks to me like a 1940's decor in the reception area which recalls old glamourous Hollywood. Overall, we had a five star experience on a 2 star budget - you can't beat that!!

Rooms basic but clean. Good location for town centre, shopping, etc. Parking in Perth expensive, but close to all transport connections (bus/rail) so car not essential.

It was mid-summer and so easy join the throngs of holiday shoppers and experience the downtown vibe of Perth. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful even carrying bags of guests upstairs while the lift is being renovated. All that the room lacks is an "easy" chair in which one can comfortably sit and watch TV. Everything else was great.

The hotel has only one lift, and it was out-of-service as it was undergoing major overhaul. Staff indicated that the repairs would take about 2 months to complete. This shortcoming was not brought to my attention during booking. WiFi @ room gets cut frequently. Fortunately they have terminals at lobby. Otherwise, a good choice of hotel.

Well overdue for a revamp. Two star at most, would be better to stay at a backpackers hostel. Reflects poorly on hotelclub to have this on their site

Could not even stay here checked in, walked into room, was to scared to even sit on bed, room wasn't even what I had booked, it stank and didn't feel secure there. Checked out and at the time was guaranteed a refund. Now neither the hotel or this website will give me a refund. DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL OR THROUGH THIS WEBSITE!!!!!
