Cradle Mountain Lodge Guest Reviews
Great place to stay. Guess no where is better in this region. This is the gate to Cradle Mountain Dove Lake.

I have lived in Tassie for 18 years, and have finally visited cradle mountain, wow is all i can say, you must go, its spectacular. Cradle Mountain Lodge is a comfortable, cosy, location although i feel its a bit tired. we stayed in a Pencil Pine Cabin which was adequate, great gas log fire, great shower, and fine for the price. we dined at the highlander resturant on our first night, Food was excellent and good value $69.00 for three courses, wine was expensive but you expect that. Second night we dined at the tavern, excellent chef (french) who was amazing under pressure, good food too! Felt relaxed but would definately upgrade to a bigger room next time. Reception staff great, friendly, and attentive. Thanks for a lovely two days :)

We had a fabulous stay in a pencil pine cabin. It was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. We were there during late winter and the heating system was great - kept us warm in the room. Esp the electric fireplace - really warmed our cold feet fast ;) The location was great, with less than 5min drive from Devils@Cradle; and about 10min drive from the National Park where we went for a Dove Lake Circuit walk. The lodge itself has several walks/trails too, if guests do not want to venture out of the vicinity into the national park. We were delighted when we crossed paths with wallabies, and wombat, during our stay there. We had dinners at the Tavern which served nice dishes. Did not try the Highland Restaurant but had breakfast there, which was delicious. Would definitely stay here again :)

The Lodge was beautiful, mid-winter, padimelons & wombats out the front of our rooms; but the Bistro, which we'd deliberately come to for the lamb shanks was a major disappointment - out of shanks after 1 meal service & full of screaming kids. Breakfast in the restaurant was terrific

Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling to the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. The service is great and they are all very helpful. The rooms are superb, we stayed in a Pencil Pine Spa cabin and they are decorated very well. With parkings right outside our cabin doors. Highlanders restaurant: food is delicious altho a bit pricey (AUD 59 for 2 course menu per person). Hotel is just 1km from Devils@cradle and 2km from the Vistor center where we go and park our cars to enter the National Park by shuttle. so it is very convenient. You can buy most of the items at the shop in the Visitor Center for 30-40% less than the prices at the Cradle Mt Lodge shops. several walks are situated starting within the Lodge grounds so it is truly convenient. Must try the Dove Lake circuit walk...it is a truly scenic and easy 6km walk...we took 3hours struggling with our cameras due to rain.
