The hotel is located two subway stops (line 2) from the LuJiaZui CBD of Pudong New Area, Shanghai (think Oriental Pearl Tower/Jin Mao Tower, SH IFC). The hotel is quite modern with all of the normal appointments. Be sure to mention you are a Marriott Rewards member for FREE INTERNET. The area surrounding the hotel is brand spanking new, so don't expect much culture. Shanghai itself is quite pretentious and shallow, but the hotel served its purpose. Wonderful bed, great/rather large room, refrigerator with appointments (that you can move outside if you need to use the refrig itself), flat panel tv with western channels, balcony (they require signature to come and open), bathtub!!!! with shower, in-room safe and large closets, bathrobes and slippers. We were only disappointed in that we contacted the hotel prior to departure for them to hail a taxi and have our bags preloaded so we could make our flight (via MagLev), and they didn't do a darn thing. ... The tip or lack thereof to the bell hop spoke the words I felt because of this.

I enjoyed the breakfast and the fitness room the most. The people were very helpful and friendly.

Reception OK, but when I made check-out, staff in charge contunue to be on the phone, and did not say any word such as thanks, just gave me receipt. This is unbelievable for me at such a nice hotel. I used to stay Courtyard in U.S. and kept membership.

Everything was good except for the breakfast buffet, I think they can have more western options.
