Gracious staff, spacious room, pleasant surroundings. Well-lit and clearly very safe to come and go at late hours. Conveniently located for Scottsdale, Phoenix, and out-of-town sites I wanted to visit. Trader Joe's right next door was the frosting on the cake!

For the past five years, I’ve stayed at the Cottonwoods Resort once or twice a year while visiting my family in Arizona. Love my family, but I need my own space away from all of the kids. PROS: Usually very economical rates and a secluded, quiet atmosphere. The property is conveniently located next to the Borgata, Trader Joes, AJs…and it's only a hop, skip and jump away from some of Scottsdale’s main attractions as well as the freeway. Beds are very soft and the property grounds are really well kept. Staff has always been courteous to me as long as I approach them with the same attitude initially. CONS: The gadgets in the rooms are in serious need of an upgrade. Both phone units in my room were defunct during my last stay and the remote control for the old TV unit was so worn out that I had to figure out by trial and error which buttons were for volume, channels, etc. I felt like I had walked into a room that has not had any improvements the 1990s. Overall, the property is clean and very affordable, but totally outdated. Like many other guests, I think it's a bit far fetched to call it a resort and charge an extra $15 bucks per day. I also think that it’s sad that they ask me if this is my first time staying there each time I check in. You’d think that they would have record of my multiple stays over the years, but I guess their computer system is out of date too. Icemaker was out during my last stay too. And I know that they are only complying with local laws, but it sure would be nice to have the jacuzzis back again….or convert the space to a private patio.

The Cottonwoods is old world Scottsdale with updates that make it comfortable and very enjoyable. Food is excellent and the staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The location is fantastic; easy walking distance to unique shops and excellent restaurants. The resort is quiet and peaceful, no problem sleeping here. It's a hidden gem in the middle of bustling activity. We'll be back!

Scottsdale Cottonwoods Resort is a great place to stay when you visit the Phoenix area! It is in a perfect location near great restaurants, shopping, and parks. The pool is great, and the staff is very nice. My family loved our stay here, and we will definitely be staying here again!
