Costabella Tropical Beach Hotel Cebu Guest Reviews
Place was a bit worn, but the servicelevel of the efficient and friendly staff compensated for this. Very quit and relaxing. And i got the best full body massage ever...... Recommended to all.

The resort itself is very well laid out. There are two pools with plenty of sunloungers around. The staff are very helpful and friendly - particularly the pool boys who will reserve you a lounger!Taxi's to and from the resort about P350. Don't pay any more than that! The hotel food was not the best, they tried hard but the menu was a little uninspiring. The buffet breakfast again was uninspiring.Island hopping is great. You can rent a boat including lunch for about P3500. This does not include island fees of about P100 pp. Well worth the money. We did this a couple of days as the hotel had a couple of private functions and the noise level was a little too much. Most rooms have recenly been renovated and were very nice. The only downside was the placement of the drain for the shower! great a/c, fresh fruit every couple of days and plenty of free bottled water. Overall, a great venue for a family or couples get-a-way. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definately return!

Very good resort for families with kids. The pools were always full. Not so good for couples looking for peace and quiet. Limited loungers etc on the beach area and the ones there were mostly broken and ill-repaired. The catering is aimed at the Asian market. Continental cuisine very poor indeed.

As a family with children aged 4 to 18, we spend 5 nights at Costabella. The rooms are very nice and newly decorated - for families connecting rooms is a good solution. The swimming pools are not especially nice – and not especially clean. The same goes for the beach, but this is how it is on Mactan Island. You will find good service and an okay restaurant with both local and western food. What is especially nice is to go with the local boat men on snorkelling trips. Ask for Robert and you will get great service, good prices (much cheaper and better than the trips arranged by the hotel) and fantastic experiences. The hotel is a good choice if you plan on many day trips – but not recommendable if you just plan on hanging out at the hotel.

The first room we were given was one in the "construction zone" - noisy as hell and of course not up to standards. However, upon speaking to the management, they moved us to a better room which was just fine. The breakfast buffet however was and remains just awful... bring your own cornflakes!
