After a bad beginning (the Hotel Club reservation hadn't been received so they weren't expecting us: a triple room) it turned out very well.... The room into which we were placed turned out to have faulty heating (chapter 2 of Bad Beginning) but the night porter did everything he could - ie turned on the air conditioning to warm - and was really sweet ....and in the morning we were moved to somewhere cosy! The rooms were clean, quiet and private: the breakfast generous: the staff as helpful as they could be - and the fact there is (free) parking is great. Good location too - easy walking, with a selection of good places to eat nearby. We will visit again.

Hotel was good, but was unhappy to be put in a room at the front of the hotel (straight onto the main road (no double glazing) also was listening to the reception telephone all the time. Do not think the front room should had of been for guests.

Very good value. Very curteous and helpful. Straight walk to the centre 1km+ downhill Number 713 bus back. 100m from Marques metro station one change at Trindade from airport. Integrated ticket system for bus, metro and funicular. Buy a ticket for duration of stay. Hotel 100m from Europcar hire centre if you are moving on. Parking under hotel if you have car.
