Location
Cosmos Hotel is situated on Chung-Hsiao West Road in the heart of Taipei, within a short walk to Taipei Train Station and MRT Taipei Main Station and just five kilometres to Taipei 101. The hotel is within easy access to The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.

I was welcomed by extremely warm staff that spoke to us with wide smiles, always ready to help and go the extra mile to serve. I booked the standard room, and the bed didn't look like a queen sized bed ( looked something between a super single and queen size ), but the room had all the bare essentials you'll need to have a good stay: a comfortable bed with plenty of pillows to go around ( 4 pillows for 2 sleeping ) and a luggage rack to let you place your luggage. Drinks, coffee and tea with a hot water jug, and a toilet with rain shower and a bath tub. Surprisingly, the toilet came with a bidet and seat warmer. The only downside was that there wasn't a proper closet for us to hang clothes. The other downside was that the sound proofing of the room was quite poor, and as our room was near the main walkway, noisy ( and extremely inconsiderate) neighbours shouting and yelling as though it is their own home would jolt you awake from your sleep late in the night. The room came with buffet breakfast, which had quite a good spread, from noodles, dim sum, rice, porridge, salads and fruits, bread and breakfast cereals. But I wouldn't consider a magnificent spread, but decent for the price. I would recommend the hotel because of its convenient location, just a 1 min walk from the Taipei Main Station exit. ( Z3 or Z4 I don't recall) Would stay here again if possible, as it is a stones throw away from Ximen ( 1 metro stop away ), well located as you can transfer to any metro line, railway line and also High Speed Rail line.

A friend of mine recommended this hotel to me & after reading the reviews, i decided to book for it. I was on free & easy trip with hubby & our 3 yr old son. We took Kuo Guang airport transport bus to Taipei Station & my hubby was extremely pleased upon arrival to know that we just had to cross a street to reach the hotel. I was carrying my son who was sleeping so he had to manage the luggages. It was only a 5 min walk. For the rest of the days, we travelled by buses, HSR, railway & metro to other parts of Taiwan.. All these are just here as Taipei Main Station is the interchange for all. Splendid location. My hubby & I took turns to go shop around the underground shops when we got back to the hotel early. The room is as reviewed. Small but cosy. The 3 bedder room has a better toilet as compared to the 2 bedder room. I was delighted to know that Kuo Kuang Transport bus terminal is just about 10 min walk from Cosmos. We took the bus, NT125 each, & was at the airport in 50 min time. I had a good experience staying there. Hope you will too.

From where the airport bus dropped me off (beside the main raiway station) I had great difficulty seeing a Cosmos Hotel sign (it was midnight and pouring with rain). Locals had never heard of the Cosmos Hotel and couldn't speak any English so sent me in the wrong direction. One hour later it turned out I was only about 10 metres from the hotel entrance. The hotel is set back on the main road in front of the station, on the left as you get off the bus (assuming thats where the bus normally offloads everyone).

Hotel location is perfect! Just above the subway and very near to the high speed rail (if you are planning to travel to other parts of taiwan). Staff there are extremely helpful and very friendly. Free Wifi there..for anyone who needs to stay connected. Breakfast is probably the only aspect they can work on because though theres quantity, quality isn't there. Still, i would recommend to anyone who wants good hotel, great location and even greater service. 5 stars!

The stay was not by me but by my sister-in-law and her boyfriend. They found the hotel to be alright. Decorations and layout was a bit dated. Room was comfy. Service was average. Staff was considered friendly.
