Location
Copthorne Hotel & Resort, Bay of Islands is a superb waterfront hotel and conference complex, located next to the historic Waitangi Treaty Grounds. We stayed here when we went to the Bay of Islands. It is located in the best possible location and lives up to it's name of resort. Everything was great except for there was no aircon in our room but then I think that how resorts are. The rooms were nice and very clean and had a great view. Totally recommended.

Great value, location and very comfortable. Like a lot of hotels I saw in NZ they look a little dated, but for the money it was brilliant.

The staff at the hotel are superb and take service levels to a greater height than I have ever experienced before. Hats off to a team that make your stay one to be remembered for all the right reasons. Thanks to the Team at the Copthorne.

Unless you are prepared to visit reception in a suit & tie, be prepared for snobbery. Take your own cutlery, as there was nothing in the room - not even a teaspoon to stir the tea/ coffee. You will also need to ask for directions to your room, and don't you dare turn up until it is exactly 2pm, and even then you will be causing hassles. For the price there are much better and more inviting places I have previously stayed at in Paihia

Bathroom was very poor and old for this level of hotel. Pool was nice but the water was not heated.
