Coogee Sands Hotel & Apartments On The Beach Guest Reviews
Location is very good, right across the parking lot from the beach. (Any indication - a Crowne type hotel is about 200m away & this one is closer to the beach than that one). Also, down the street (meaning VERY short walk) from shops & food. Next door to another Hotel that has a nightclub/bar/restaurant & also down the street from two similar ones. This proximity can mean loud music on Fri & Sat nights, but otherwise quiet. Hotel has agreement with a few shops along the walk (imagine it as 'along the boardwalk') where you can charge the food to the room & pay at the hotel. Customer service is pretty good. The hotel is small so the front desk people will remember you & provide minimal concierge service if requested (they can arrange taxi, recommend where to eat, arrange & book trips). We had a few issues (2 'sea roaches' as I call them [large brown roach like bugs that aren't scared of the light, don't move fast & can also be found in the ocean] were found in our room (one each on two different days) and they just cleaned our room extra good (didn't offer to switch us). Courtyard room is on ground level which means the discourteous people upstairs can spit on you if they're not cognizant that there are people below them. I called the hotel immediately after booking to ensure I got a courtyard through the entire stay [& could stay in the same room] (I booked 2 separate trips dates meeting in the middle 1/2 courtyard & half 'regular'), the manager on duty at the time looked it up in the system, said that would be doable & that we'd pay on check in. During my stay I had to They didn't offer any concessions for the inconvenience other than keeping me in the courtyard room as long as possible before moving. Room appointments for studio rooms are average at best - blow dryer in bathroom, iron in living area. Kitchen includes microwave, fridge. TV doesn't have a DVD player & has about 19 channels of cable. Price is pretty high considering how 'basic' the hotel is, but everything is priced high in the area, so I gave value an 'average' rating. I wouldn't discourage anyone from staying here, but would also weigh my options.

wonderful location right on Coogee Beach with beautiful views right outside the door. Walk to the beach and the rocky headland. Lots of great restaurants just up the street. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful . I found twin beds too soft , otherwise I would highly recommend

The location was handy to shops and restaurants at Coogee and right at the beach. Reception staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions for local restaurants. Parking was a bit tight with not a lot of room to manouvre, but we would be happy to stay again.
