Conference Aston Hotel Birmingham

It satisfied the purpose to an extent. The room was stated as an Executive Twin well I'd like to know what was Executive about it. The general maintenance could have been better and the decor was very disappointing within the room. I would recommend but set expectation of standard quite low in room decor.

I've stayed here twice now. The main motivators being cost and central location, which this hotel has more than satisfied. The hotel can be hard to find, being located in the Business School building. Only criticism is the check-out time of 9:30am; I'm sure this is just fine for business/ conference visitors on weekdays but for leisure visitors (I stayed Saturday night) this is a tad harsh! Don't bother with their breakfast; there are abundant better-value establishments within 5 mins walk of the campus.

The room I stayed at was very lovely. Like the fact that there are different setting of lights in the room (confusing at first). There are complimentary drinks in the room and the fact that there are a few selections of hot drinks (as I stop drinking caffeinated drinks) very thoughtful. Big and spacious the room, bed is very comfy, have everything I need in a room which I don't need to ask for help. The location is great as it is near enough close to everything. If there is any hotel deals in Birmingham I made sure to check this one first!! This is my second stay in 2 month and was very please I had this on the autumn sale!!

As it was the 5th time i was staying at this hotel i was very suprised to see my room. Every other time, i enjoyed staying there n it felt comfortable and homely. However this time it was a cramped and dated rom. I didnt like the carpet it was stinedthe decor was old fashioned and the shower was a bath shower. It has made me consider going back

We enjoyed our stay, it has everything you need in a room. Nice deco, interior, which give a warm welcoming atmosphere. I also like the fact that there is a bath tub. The location of the hotel is by the city centre, great to be close to everything!!

The Conference Aston is efficiently run, they have staff on their front desk 24 hours a day. The security is good with two points of electronic key access, the rooms are certainly comfortable with everything that you'd expect from a 3 to 4 star hotel. The charge for breakfast is expensive however and you have to pay extra for car parking. If their car park is full on one day of your stay they insist that you move your car to a nearby pay and display car park which is far more expensive which happened to me during my stay and frankly I found this very inconvenient. Also, there is no direct bus that runs from the University into the centre of town, so most people take taxis there and back which also adds to the cost. I think the worst part of the stay is their extremely early check out time which is 9.30 am - whilst many people who are staying there to attend conferences, training etc will find this okay, if your stay is for a holiday you might find this is far too early. Also, they stop serving breakfast at 9 am which is also too early for many people.

The hotel was smack bang in the middle of where we wanted to be. Very impressed with room and facilities and the breakfast was fabulous, hot and presented well and staff very attentive. Definetely would stay again and recommend to friends.

I was very pleased with the cleanliness. The staff were really helpful . Car parking very good at small cost for a visit to B'ham city centre.

If your just looking for a comfortable and clean place to rest your head this is definately the hotel for you! Unlike most other hotels, Conference Aston is very quiet and the staff have been very friendly and accommodating! The rooms are modern and clean and contain all you need for your stay! I would definately recommend this hotel as my experience has been good!

When you get to the Aston campus there is a sign for 'hotel', this is the one and only sign I saw, after wondering around aimlessly and asking various people it turns out that you want the 'Aston Business School' building which has a conference centre and hotel attached. They didn't have my booking, but lady on reception was very nice / helpful. From there it got better, the rooms are very well quipped modern 4 star standard and spotlessly clean. You can use very good gym and pool for free. Checkout time is by 9:30 and more like you would expect of a Blackpool guest house, but as was staying on business not an issue for me.

Nice quiet location right on the edge of the city. Short walk to city centre shops, bars and restaurants. Lovely clean accomodation, cheap parking and very quiet on the weekend we stayed.Stayed here 3 years ago and the standard has been maintained.

I booked myself and my boyfriend into this *hotel* for somewhere to stay after seeing a concert at the HMV institute, location wise this hotel is pretty central and is only a short walk to the bull ring which is extremely handy - however the *hotel* in itself is not so great - On arrival the *hotel* is not sign posted well at all and we ended up driving round aimlessly looking for hotel signs and could not find any, it was only that i recognised the business school image from the website that we went inside to ask if we were in the right place - however the staff are extremely friendly and were very polite. We had booked a standard room which was basic, however i went to go and sit down on the bed and it was clearly broken and extremely noisy - just sitting down on it, this being the case we actually took the mattress off the bed and pushed aside the bedframe to find everything above the surface to be rather unclean, however the mattress on the floor turnt out to be quite comfy. The shower head needed a good clean as the water was flying off everywhere, however the temperature was good. If your looking for a cheap hotel central to all the shops and your not that fussy then fine go for it!its not that terrible - just dont be drawn in to the pictures on the sites advertised as there is a high chance you will be disapointed. being the first time i stayed in birmingham we wouldnt rush back to the same hotel - we would stay somewhere else :)
