Comfort Inn Universal Studios Area Guest Reviews
The hotel was right down the street from universal/islands of adventure. The room was kind of stuffy and the A/C wasnt that cold as well. The breakfast was great. If you're looking for a cost effective place to stay and don't mind a few imperfections..this is the place!!!!

This best looking part of this hotel was the lobby. We got to the hotel about 1:45pm and was quickly told that they do not check anyone in until 3:00pm SHARP! No problem on my part, so my son and I went to eat and came back about 2:30 and stood in line until 2:57 when the check-in clerk started doing check-in of us peasant customers who were sucked into this town to be rolled by Mickey and his buddies along with other amusement arenas. We got to our room (Room 381) and it was cooler standing in the sun than it was in the room! There was a letter on the bed from the Customer Care Department stating "if there is anything you need, don't hesitate to call". Evidently, he got off early on Friday. I left a nice message and asked him to call me back, and as of July 23rd (check-in was July 1st), I haven't heard from him. I went to the front to voice my complaint that we were sweating in the room. The engineer came to the room and said the compressor went out on the A/C (I could live with this excuse). He bought another A/C to the room and installed and it basically cooled the room by one degree. I went back to the front desk after an hour to ask for another room because this heat was acting as Krytonite. They sent another engineer to the room and he ask me to come with him to check A/C's versus placing us in another room. We were given the option of taking the A/C in the game room or in the Engineer's office. We opted for the Engineer's A/C. It was only a minor upgrade. It did not cool like a real A/C would. Box fans could have done a better job. The room had sugar ants and some other black bugs, paint and sheetrock cracks, dingy lighting for starters. Saturday, we were gone from 9:00 am going to Daytona to the NASCAR race to return at 3:00am. Sunday, we left to get some real A/C in the rental car and on the plane back to Houston. Comfort Inn has lost me as a customer in any resort town. Motel 6 would have been better!

Our stay was fine, our room was clean and the front desk staff were very helpful. The free breakfast was ok, there was plenty available. We were happy with this hotel for the price we paid, it's not luxury but it's great for using as a base in the Orlando area.
