Comfort Hotel Wellington

We booked a twin bed room, and the price was good and the room was very clean etc. However I felt like I was staying in a backpackers. Rooms really small just a ordinary single bed not king single. Very central location, you can walk to everything Parliment building, Te Papa cuba st mall. I would choose a bigger room next time and maybe a better hotel. too. If you are on a budget then its agood place to stay.

Stayed here many times and for what we need, perfect. Close to cafes, buses, and walking distance to almost anywhere including Mt Vic if you're a keen walker. Mike and Lea

The Comfort Hotel, was perfectly located for soaking up the artisan atmosphere of Wellington. The rooms were small, clean and tidy and the staff friendly. Easy walking distance to Te Papa great movie theatres and numerous choices of places to eat. Buses were easily accessible and frequent. The bus day pass was value for money when going to Weta Workshop, The Roxy and the Zoo all in one day. We had a fabulous city break.

this hotel's location is great, so handy to everything and you are in the mix/vibe of cuba street. however the staff on duty were possibly the worst i have ever come across. they did not seem to enjoy working there, they were slow and unable to help with requests. they had trouble with my booking and charged me for a bond when i had paid up front with a credit card, saying that it was because of a 'mini bar' but i didnt even have a fridge in my room let alone a mini bar. i felt they were unorganised and rude. there was mould in the shower and i could feel the springs in the mattress in my back sleeping. good room for money i guess.

The location is really convenient for everything happening in Wellington, particularly entertainment venues (e.g. Town Hall and Michael Foweler Centre) and museums (including Te Papa) and art galleries, and easy walking distance to business and shopping areas. Although cheap the rooms are comfortable and clean and well-serviced and the staff are friendly and efficient. If you are a light sleeper rooms facing the vibrant Cuba Street may not suit you (though it doesn't worry me). Rooms are not very suitable if you plan to do much work there and the lighting is pretty low-level, too, but there is wired Internet access in rooms though not (in general) wifi. Rooms are cosy for two and good for one! I like the sense of history in the old building but the whole place has been well-renovated and public facilities are shared with the adjoining new Quality Hotel. I always stay here when I need to come to Wellington.

For light sleepers, the Cuba Mall-side rooms may be too noisy (even on a Monday night, let alone a Friday!), but as a heavy sleeper it didn't bother me. And I enjoyed the extra space in these street-side rooms. None of the rooms are big, but the other rooms are even smaller! But all very clean and comfortable - good bed and shower which is all I am looking for in an affordable Wellington midweek accommodation. Staff very helpful and friendly - but not that i needed them much. Slightly spoilt by some maintenance problems with a light switch, a blown globe and one or two other small things. No mini-bar, and even though i didnt paying for mini-size over-priced drinks and snacks, its a nuisance not to have a cool place to store your milk, yoghurt and juice if you like to fix your own breakfasts. Oh, and if you, like me, get annoyed with those fixed (often in an awkward position) soap and shampoo pumps, you'll probably have to make sure you pack your own.

Overall really good, just a good honest comfortable room, nothing flash. Could do with a bigger TV in the room we were in (I understand they are working their way through) but also maybe want to look at a wee fridge as any food or drink purchased we had no where to keep cool.

Easy walk to all central city attractions-cuba street cafes and shops, harbour front and town Hall ,Te papa, convenient to St james theatre for a night out Quiet despite closeness to cuba st but windows rattled in gale force winds Chosen for location, value and also access to swimming pool of sister hotel ,but enjoyed Wellington's shopping and hanging out in water front cafes too much ,leaving no time to use this facility

This hotel was once a Salvation Army Hostel (see the pamphlets in the dining room). The place has some of the original features including a great central staircase which lend a degree of charm. The rooms were very small but very clean and were very good value. The main problem for me was that my room was very noisy insofar as there was a lot of street noise (drunks and so on who thought that they should share their singing - and limited vocabulary of Anglo Saxon oaths - with the world at large) as well as the central city early morning serenade of rubbish compactor trucks and so on. Overall I would probably stay there again but ask for a quieter room.

Friendly helpful staff. Great restaurant. Handy location. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Expected some noise but was pleasantly surprised - it was quiet. Only gripe - a hand towel would have been a nice extra!

Fantastic for the price-would stay again happily!! smalishl room with high ceilings but perfect for one person. Everything you need in the room plus more. Clean and comfortable with a modern updated bathroom. Staff amazing and very helpful anytimr we asked them. Great hotel cafe with excellent coffee and food and staff wh went out of their way to be helpful and prices very reasonable. Hotel in Great position in the middle of Cuba St with many shops and restauarants all close by so so car hire not needed. Bit of street noise at night but with a warm and real good cosy bed with a firm mattress so not too much of a problem. Just loved it staying here and hope to go back again and stay.

nice hotel, rooms were very clean but very small, good location. The staff were nice enough but not very professional and not so good with knowledge either, were a bit slow at reacting to requests.

Well located hotel in the hub of Cuba street surrounded by fabulous restaurants and cafes. The rooms were quiet and comfortable with little extras like the latest Listner magazine. The in house cafe offers very good coffee and well priced breakfasts. The bedrooms are small but fine for a couple of nights. Very comfortable beds with 100% cotton sheets.

The hotel was right in Wellington so handy to all city attractions. Really nice cafe's with in a one minute walk. Off street parking was great no need to worry about the car. The room was very clean and tidy and all that i needed.

The stay, although only the one night, was good. The bed was not the best, too low and not very comfortable. Some guests were noisy, but that can happen anywhere. Part of the deal we had included breakfast. We had to ask how we received that. We were not told where to go for it though. We went to the cafe part of the establishment, which was the wrong place, should have gone to the restaurant. Something we were not told. Aver all though the location was great for central city shopping etc. Would stay there again, but in a better room.
