Color Design Hotel Bastille Paris Guest Reviews
I really liked the hotel and especially where it was located. It was a bit outside the tourist areas (east of Bastille) - it was more in a residential area which I prefer. And because of that, there were some really good restaurants around. Plus there is a Metro station right around the corner, which is a great and easy way to get around Paris. As for the rooms. When I first booked the hotel, I read a lot of reviews about the place. The biggest complaint I read was that it had paper thin walls. However, I did not hear any of our neighbors. But since the doors were heavy, you can hear people opening and shutting them. But otherwise, the noise level was at a minimum (except for the one night with some drunk girls outside!) As for the size of the room... like all boutique hotels, it was small, but manageable - very much like NY hotels. The bathroom was also small, but the shower was great! It had good water pressure and a waterfall-like shower-head imbedded in the ceiling!!! But it did get the bathroom a little wet all over. They did clean the rooms everyday. The bed was comfortable... really, if you're in Paris, the only reason to be in the hotel is to sleep and shower. The only thing we did not do is eat their breakfast - complete rip-off! As mentioned, there are plenty of restaurants and bakeries around, you will find plenty of places to get a good breakfast at a fraction of the cost at the hotel. It's definitely a hotel I would book again!

Good location within 15mins walking of Basille and onto Marais. Very clean, fresh and contemporary finish. Good sized room. No tea / coffee facilities in room though. Also very noisy first thing when cleaning commences and I doubt there is much acoustic insulation between rooms as you can hear most things. Minor gripes though and all in all very pleasant and reasonably priced place to stay.

Very beautiful room (wow - ipod dock!), I felt very much at home! I'll be back soon.

I stay there three nights in April 2009. Hotel full of antithesis. The good things are the light colors, the modern design of bath equipment, the electrical lights and its relatively good location. The bad things are the small rooms (at least that I used), the coridos too narrow, the price is rather high and the worst of all is the lack of drainage system at the bath floor. The shower has no any separation from the rest bath and unavoidably the bath floor always floods.

Modern and chic, however a non-transparent bathroom door would have been nice. Not too far from various Metro stops, however, could use better signage to identify the hotel from a distance. Front desk staff were very helpful.
