Clarion Hotel Renton Guest Reviews
I stayed at this hotel while looking for an apartment to rent. Since this was the only time I've stayed in the Seattle area, I cannot compare it to its competition; however, comparing it to other hotels I've stayed at across the country, it was good. Getting onto the motorway was very easy and quick. Getting back was a little time consuming depending on the time of day you were trying to return. I was in a room on the side of the hotel and didn't hear much outside noise. There is a Harley Davidson across the street, but it must not have been the season for motorcycle enthusiasts because I didn't ever see anyone in the parking lot. (I was there Wednesday night through Saturday morning.) The complementary hot breakfast started all of my days off well. When I was staying there, they had scrambled eggs, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, as well as cold breakfast and toast. There's a TV for everyone to watch while eating breakfast. It was pretty nice. The walls are a little bit thin, but I suppose I was lucky because it wasn't too noisy when I was trying to sleep. I checked under the beds for bugs (because I'm paranoid like that) and found none. They have complementary WiFi-accessed Internet. It's fast enough for regular browsing; however, it's not fast enough to watch Youtube videos without letting them buffer for a while. On top of my laptop, I also connected to it from my iPod Touch if that info interests anyone. They have one elevator and two or three staircases. I always used the staircases because they were just convenient that way. I always had my "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door (because I'm paranoid about workers stealing my stuff), and they respected the sign. The people working there were friendly, but I didn't have any problems to bug them about. So I have no test of how far their patience went. But I had no problems at all with them. As I said, they were nice. :) There seemed to be ample parking spaces. I didn't park in the back because it wasn't very well lit. I parked either in the front or on the side. There was only one entrance/exit. That's all I can think of to say! Hope it helps. I rated a 4/5 only because of the thin walls. Everything else was great.

Recently Renovated. If not for the new furniture, stone tiles, and nice linens/draperies this would be a "seedy hotel". But they have tried hard to overcome the dark and narrow hallways small boxy rooms and industrial area. The parking lot is covered from every angle by their security system. Despite backing highway 167, i did not hear any freeway noise. The harsh lights from the neighboring car lot are quite bright when the privacy (blackout) drapes are not closed. I prefer to wake up to sunshine in the room (drapes open) so it did bother me to some extent.

I thought I'd give Clarion a try. Checked in very late (11:30 p.m.). In very bad area of town, lots of bikers in parking lot, no security, elevator smelled of urine, hotel room reeked, had to sleep with the window open (next to interstate hwy) as something in the room was making my throat raw, my eyes weep and my nose itch. Furniture was very marred and room was cramped. Bathroom had many long strands of dark hair left in tub and sink area.Had pre-purchased from [...] a two night stay. Checked out the very next day and moved to the Hampton Inn near SeaTac (yes, more expensive but much nicer and clean which is very important to me.The desk clerk took off my second night but when I contested the charge through AMEX, Clarion denied my claim saying that I had purchase a non-refundable two night stay.I will never stay Clarion or use [...] again.
