We requested another room because it was too close to the door as far as noise. The manager bumped up with no extra charge to a kitchenette. We utilized the frig & coffee pot in the morning. The woman checking us inquired about our plans and when she found out we were going to stay out late for a company Xmas party & cabbing it she offered to call us a cab, give us a late check-out, and a wake-up call! Thanks Clarion Staff!

Waking up to a Pacific Ocean view was breathtaking. While the hotel wasn't glitzy, it was clean and comfortable. The smoothies at the continental breakfast were great and the staff was helpful and polite. what more could you want?

Hotel was overall not bad at all. Rooms were a nice size and I appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. Made it easy to bring food. Big TV in room. I only have 2 minus points -wish there was some forms of protein in the breakfast. It was all fruit and sugar. BUT it was free so I cant really complain. -the 'beach view' was in no way a beach view. dont pay extra for it, you cant see anything no matter what angle you are at,

Though they tried, the desk clerks were unable to check us in before 4pm. We arrived in San Diego at 10am. We could have "freshened up" in the restroom located next to the pool, but that really didn't help us since my husband has a medical issue that sometimes requires that he be able to lie down. The hotel is not well signed and we drove past it 3 times before locating the driveway. Location on the historic beach highway was nice, but it was still a good hike to the water. The continental breakfast was adequate, nothing special. Local restaurants were good and plentiful.
