Things I loved about this hotel: it's location, the fact that it has a full kitchen and lounge area for guests in addition to the rooms, the balcony, room layout and friendly staff. Things I was a little less impressed with: the carpets need replacing, the vents in the bathrooms apparently need to be replaced by fans (the signs say that if you leave the bathroom door open or even slightly ajar the steam will trigger the smoke detector), the disability-unfriendly stairs (you have to be able to walk at least 2 flights of stairs) in order to access your room/the kitchen/the lounge. I would happily stay again, and would recommend it to others.

Only a very short walk from the station, right in the middle of town.

Just about accessible from inside Wynyard station - but the 1st floor start is reached by a narrow and steep double flight of stairs, with no lift. Check-in was easy and no problem. The room was a reasonable size but some of the TV channels suffered from static disruption which should not have been the case. There was no door to the bathroom, which was partially cut off from the bedroom with a curtain, but this did not close completely - if you need privacy you will have to ask other occupants to leave the room! No catering facilities in the hotel but there are handy restaurants, cafes, etc., just outside the front door.

The location to The Rocks, Bridge, Harbour etc was perfect, the 'Historic' part of the Lodge you'll need to cross the road and look back that is the only historic bit you will see, but the beds were comfortable, the bathroom had recently been renovated so was in really good condition. Room size, don't take your cat. but as we just showered and slept in the room, it was perfect for our needs and I would stay there and recommend the 'Lodge'. The staff were friendly and willing to help.

Friendly and helpful staff, but the rooms are small and beginning to look tired and shabby. Great location.

GOOD BUT THIS HOTEL IS NOT FOR OLD OR DISABLED PEOPLE BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAVE ELEVATOR. OTHER SUBJECT: YOUR WEBSIDE IS GOOD: AT LEAST BETTER THAN VEGAS.COM OR VAUSTRALIA.COM.

Although Hotel Club sent me an email confirming my booking, when I got to the City Lodge Hotel, they had not received my booking. When they rang the people at Hotel Club, the Hotel Club people hang up on them and offered absolutely no assistance to me, the cutomer who had booked through them! Instead, City Lodge Hotel helped me.

Very good location close to Wynyard railway station. Eventhough it was a small room it was very clean and good shower facilities. good common room area. Some noise from the street but I think very good price considering the location and the hotel room.

Great position near the ferry quays and very central, despite this it didnt suffer much traffic noise. No lift and up a couple of flights from the street and no car parking. Good staff and free laundry room. Ideal for a couple of days in Sydney if you can climb a few stairs, train station close by.

No lift for the hotel (reception is at 1st floor, and rooms at higher floors);all chinese receptionists very friendly [we received as a very appreciated present for the NYE a bottle of sparkling wine!]and helpful; room cleaning superficial (under my bed I found something pertaining to very previous guests...) but the location is really GORGIOUS! in the very center of the CBD, so that in a few minutes walk you can reach either Circular Quay or Darling Harbour. For this issue the hotel devotes the stay.

Room a bit on the small side, but good as I was on my own. Clean and new bathroom, room safe, plasma TV with Foxtel and other HDi channels. Only small mention is there are no individual controls for the A/C, and the A/C did not work as well as normal hotel ones. Staff very friendly and helpful with any requests I had. Allowed me to leave bag in Reception as I had a late flight out, plus managed to lend me a phone charger as I had forgot mine. Would definitley stay there again.

Hotel is in a great location just a small entrance to the hotel which made difficult to find. But once inside felt warm and relaxing. We were walking distance to Darling Harbour, and close to Ferry and train stations.with Taxi stand, airport shuttle right at the door. The staff were very friendly and accommodating - even when we had a few problems LIKE the TV didn't have a great picture, and the fact that our "Double" bed was actually 2 singles joined together made sleeping hard with the join down the middle.we were given a late check-out and free bottle Wine for the problems free of charge as we didn't fly until the evening. I would recommend City Lodge if you are after somewhere close for sightseeing and nothing fancy We will still stay there on next return trip
