City Garden Hotel Amsterdam
5 out of 5

I normally would have booked a Hotel nearer to the Centre but as it was Queens Day Weekend decided to pick somewhere out of the Centre and I was very pleased with my Choice as it was very easy to get to using Tram 2 or 5. I found the Staff could not have been anymore firendly or helpful. When I reported a problem with the lights in my room it was fixed immediately. The Breakfast was very good and once again the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. If you are looking for a Hotel a like out of the centre and near to The Rijk or Van Gogh Museum this is the Hotel for you. Would recommend this Hotel very highly.

All around comfotable and clean accomodation, bit pricey for what it is, but the location makes up for it, 30 mins walk to Dam square, 10 second walk to the beautiful Vondelpark and lots to access and things do and explore within the immediate area. Staff friendly and willing to assist. Really enjoyed my stay in this part of Amsterdam. Hotel is ideal for a group of friends getting away, not sure if it would cater very well towards a family.

Room was small and nothing special, but clean. Breakfast (continental) was unexpectedly good for a low-budget hotel, with friendly staff in attendance. They have free internet, just one PC but it was rarely busy for longer times. 24 h access. Directly on Vondelpark, 5 min to Leidseplein. If you just need a roof over your head fo a few days and want to be close to city center/venues, but not in a completely touristy area, this is a good place to stay at!

Staff was unfrriendly but helpful. The room was nice, but the walls are paper thin. I could hear every foot step, conversation, and movement that the people next door made. I was not happy with the room for because it was impossble to sleep because the people next door were so loud... Nice TV but no fridge. I would not go back to this hotel.

This hotel is relatively clean, very small, in an ok location, close to Vondelpark, 10-15 mins to the Hardrock, a variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes(not those cozy ones you see on tv though.) This is considered the fashion district, so there is a lot of shops cheap and expensive right outside. Staff are helpful in person but NOT on the phone. I would try to find something in a better area like the American Hotel. Red light district is about 20 mins trolly ride.

Rooms were small but clean. Definitely thought that €150 per night for a twin room was excessive, even for Amsterdam. Location was good, only a 10 minute tram ride from Dam Square.

Okay hotel. Amsterdam is an expensive city and good inexpensive hotels are hard to find. This one if good value for money.

Breakfast was excellent, people on reception were extremely helpful. The only drawback was that the rooms are very small. Other than that it was a very satisfactory hotel.

I booked a double room to spend the weekend with my wife for our anniversay, when we arrived, we were given a huge room in the basement with 5 single bed, it was under the restaurant. we couldn't sleep that night at all, because of the noise of people moving and running. It was the worset anniversay in my life. the next day we asked them to move us to the top floor, at the night the girl next door found a mouse, and started shouting... we couldn't sleep another night, they ruined our long waited holiday, rubbish hotel

On arrival we were given a very small double room with no drawer space or hangers and with the bed right up against the wall and radiator. We asked to be moved and were given a far more roomy triple room. Breakfasts were very good, the hotel clean and its location for the museum district was excellent

Located in quieter area by a beautiful park in the trendy shopping district just south of the "CBD" of Amsterdam central - an easy 15-20 minute walk to the south of the CBD where a lot of the city sights are located as well as closer by public transport options if you don`t want to walk. Nice hotel, friendly staff.

The room we had was very small but apart from this it is a comfortable hotel with a good selection of food for breakfast and is well situated for visiting the many sights around central Amsterdam.
