Great hotel, with very nice members of staff. Just wish we had the room we thought we would have.

Room had plenty of space, bathroom was spotless. Bed was very conformable and slept soundly. Restuarant / Bar area was convenient and the food was excellent. Staff were friendly, organised a taxi in the morning.

The room was nice - but absolutely no frills. There was not even comp shampoo/ soap. The air conditioning in our room wouldn't allow us to adjust it so we had to sleep with the covers off us as it was very hot in the room. The room was very basic - no shampoo etc but nice and quite spacious. But the clincher was really the service -which was pretty awful really. We had a run around when we tried to organise parking bay and were told two different reasons why we couldn't have it from different staff (one blaming the other). We asked about where else we could park and were told to park at a 24 hour multi story nearby, and then (after deciding it was easier to catch the train) we found out that street parking would have been free when we were there. The hotel gave us a discount for the restaurant downstairs which offers guests 10% discount on main meals, but when we got down there the restaurant (also with awful service) wouldn't honour it. This might be OK for business travel but I can't see how this hotel achieved a four star rating. It was definitely a three (max)!!

We were appauled to see 3 large bags of rubbish in the corridor near our room, which stayed there for our entire stay. Also we pressed the lift button, and the service lift arrived, which was full to the brim, with used food trays, dirty linen, and rubbish bags . In our room, the TV remote didnt work at all, and the sound was also broken. If you turned the sound up, it would slowly creep back to mute. When we mentioned this problem to the reception staff, he was very disinterested. Not somewhere we would revisit.

Wonderful location, with a nice & comfortable room. Parking is hard to find, but if you're lucky, you can get one just outside the hotel doorstep.

I chose this hotel for a weekend away based on its location. Overall the experience was a little disappointing. I'd expect a hotel claiming 4 stars in this part of town to have a mini-bar - there was a fridge, a sink and tap and electric kettle but no mini-bar. The TV was old and had a lousy picture. The hotel has only limited parking, so I had to park some distance away at a parking station - $39 overnight on Friday ouch! Happy to stay here again on business when all I need is a bed. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean.

The service and experience at the hotel was great. The room and spa were fantastic. The only gripe was the really old CRT TV with substandard reception, really pulled the room down.

We were in Perth for a few days to attend a wedding and catch up with extended family. The Somerset was very clean, quiet and comfortable and in a central and convenient position. I was particularly pleased that our room had a bath. We ate breakfast on the first morning in the downstairs restaurant and although the food was good we did not return as we found the restaurant to be cold (draughty) and the TV annoying. There are heaps of other cafes just a few steps away including Dome which we preferred. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. :)

We stayed in what was named a delux suite, however the room was very dated and looked nothing like the images on the websites. Bed didn't even have full linen and was sinking in the centre. Compared to other 4 star accommodation, it is definately not that and not value for money. $15 for breakfast was not worth it, could have easily bought fresher/nicer breakie from across the road for the same price.

Room was very spacious. Only disappointment was the TV was not digital. A pleasant walk to Hay Street Mall (main shopping). Public transport close and plenty of eating places around except most were closed over Easter.

Staff blighted my experience at this hotel. I specified in my booking that I needed a twin not double room. I was given a double. I phoned reception, explained that a platonic friend and I didn't want to share a bed, and that I had asked for a twin. The woman on duty was rude and unhelpful. They were full so I couldn't be moved, which I understood. I repeated that I had booked a twin, and despite this she insisted that I pay a $50 fee for an awful foldaway bed. All she needed to do was apologize for their error and offer the foldaway for free, & I would have been quite accepting of the situation. Textbook example of a rude, unprofessional staff member ruining a hotel's good reputation. I will never stay here again unless there are no alternatives within a 5km radius, & that includes a backpackers!

Very spacious room with a proper sink to fill the kettle. Only stayed one night so didn't make use of the bath. Excellent cooked breakfast with a big bowl of fresh fruit. Close to city shops and only three blocks from the railway station

We stayed one night after a function nearby, would"ve liked to have stayed longer. We were pleasantly surprised to have a large room with a spa bath. Breakfast in the dining downstairs was lovely and at $18 was reasonable for a fully cooked meal plus tea coffee and juice. The only complaint was not the hotels fault but we heard two large cranes begin work outside at 7am on Sunday morning.Would stay there again.

We were only here for 1 night (company function elsewhere) but the room was comfortable and clean and yes, very handy. There is a noisy bar at the entrance but we could not hear it from our room on the 4th floor. mind you it was 5pm on a friday night:-)

Nice quite Hotel, window facing St Georges Terrace which we thought was good, instead of some Hotels viewing a parking lot or rubbish bins. Would definately stay again, clean, pricing reasonable, we even had a spa in our room. The reception personnel staff very helpful and pleansant.

For a newer hotel it is very old in facilities. Chosen because of its location there are better value properties near by.
