Very pretty and well kept cottages. Central service area incl. restaurant very well designed and maintained. Nice pool. good restaurant. Helpful staff. A delightful place.

Huge colonial style properties by the lake side. Lush greenery, with monkeys and birds. Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Hotel seems to be popular with large tour groups, so the restaurants are a bit crowded and the quality of the food is average. Staff are friendly and pleasant. Rooms can be updated. Spa is basic, and offers traditional ayurvedic treatments. Masseur has excellent techniques. Highly recommended.

We came back to this hotel after a 15 year gap and found it just as excellent as before. It manages to combine being used by package tours and independent travellers without discriminating against the independents. The setting is lovely with extensive gardens- and a co-located farm which provides some of the restaurant food. One of the nicest pools in Sri Lanka. We would definitely return again and would strongly recommend it to anyone, particularly families with older children.
