This was our latest stay at the Trans Asia in Colombo. We chose it based on previous experience over many years, and it still ranks with the best, in our opinion (food, facilities and serice) We normally ask for a room at the rear of the hotel, overlooking the pool, but noise from the disco across Beira Lake (300 metres+ distant) led us to seek a room change, which was accomplished with charm and minimum fuss. We were even up-graded. Now that is real service.

The rooms were fantastic - and that was the most basic! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the prices of meals were in line with other places we visited in Sri Lanka. The children loved it and the staff make an effort to make sure they are OK. They helped with organising transport to the Airport and provide reasonable fixed price taxi's or vans to take you there. If we ever go back to Sri Lanka, we will stay there again!

The resturants were very well priced and the service was excellant. Recomend this hotel if you want to stay in Colombo City
