Most staff are okay. The best thing that our family like is swimming pool that covering with shady trees.

The friendliness and hospitality of the staff was far above outstanding. Despite a fairly remote location, accessibility to Pattaya and local attractions was easily tolerable. The only complaint I had was that I could not access the internet from my room (though they are remodeling and it is in the works). The site map shown on the internet was far from accurate, however, the 23 floor building was easily seen from the main highway (3) and therefore not at all hard to find.

The hotel has a nice sea view and it''s own peaceful beach situated at the very north side of Pattaya (not that accurate on the map). For those looking for more exciting activities, I would not suggest you this hotel because you''ll need to travel 25 minutes down to central Pattaya by the hotel bus (50baht-2way) or taxi (150-200 baht) per person per way. Of course, you can if you have the budget and time.

The hotel changed its name recently from the Mercure and a lot of the locals still refer to it as such and not the Cholchan,quite important when you are trying to get taxis etc. Also the hotel is not 10 minutes from Pattaya as described but a good 20 minutes depending on traffic by "taxi".<br><br> The "extra bed" charge of Bhts500 is something which apparently most other hotels in Pattaya do not charge. Other than that an excellent hotel, good facilities, friendly staff who have laid back attitude and do not hassle you. Try the "Euroburger" and milk shake from room service menu - excellent value at around £4. Sunbeds on the beach are just about the most comfortable thing I have ever lounged in.
