Hotel is a little hard to find. It is convenient for Ueno Station and has plenty of places to eat nearby. Rooms small but adequate.

Very handy for underground and for Ueno and Asakusa markets. Ten minutes from central Tokyo. Watch out for specials in restaurant - only one a month and at lunch time. Restaurant only open for breakfast and lunch but many restaurants close by.

I liked it. Within ten minutes walk of Ueno station and the Ueno Park next door to the station. There is a zoo and a museum also in the Ueno Park area. Inside the single room is pretty small. You have the bed, t.v., bench, shower & toilet and very narrow carpet space but overall it was a comfortable night.

Nice cheap hotel, around a 10 minute walk to the Ueno train station and heaps of great shopping. The room was small and had only the basics but it was clean and suited my needs, not bad for the price. If staying in Ueno I would definitely stay here again.

Very small room (we had a standard double) with same basic items in japanese hotel rooms. rooms did not smell much of smoke even though we had a smoking room although we requested a non-smoking room. very good location close to Euno station (good for yamonate JR line for JR rail pass holders) and park, market shops and museums. can easily walk to Asakaksa area. free internet in foyer and many convenience shops nearby. the area is not so nice by japanese standards of neighbourhoods (the odd paper litter can be found !) but this aspect of the location should not worry people. if you had a choice of this hotel or one in the ginza area then go for the latter. overall its ok but just a place to stayReview by: Wayne Gill

This hotel is in a very quiet part of town. We would have preferred a more lively location, and will not stay at Ueno again. However, the Chisun Ueno is close to the station and surrounding attractions (park and museums). The room was large compared to other hotels we've stayed at in Japan, but the facilities were average (particularly given the price.) If you dislike cigarette smoke, make sure who insist on a non-smoking floor. We were initially placed on a smoking floor and the smell in our room was so overpowering that it made us feel sick. However, the hotel staff were very responsive and moved us to a non-smoking floor the next morning.Review by: Steven Chen

We have just returned from 2 separate stays at Chisun for our Japan trip. It is a lovley quiet, clean hotel, and rooms quite spacious. Free internet in the room is certainly a bonus. We found the hotel quite hard to find, on our first night arrival. Walk straight out of the main entrance/exit Ueno JR station and veer left to go down the main road. A few blocks down, when you see a big red arch (temple) on right, turn left and walk two short blocks down the side street. Look right at the end of the second block... and Chisun is there. Less than 10 minutes walk from statiion. Highly recommended hotel for location and price. Staff were all helpful and friendly.Review by: Lyn Piper

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. If you use Google earth to find the location it is incorrect. Use the Hotel location map. The hotel is a 5 min walk from the Ueno train station. We took the Skyline train from Narita Airport to Ueno Staion which saves having to change trains. You need to book your seat on the Skyline and there is plenty of room for luggage. Really enjoyed Japan and food was cheap provided you ate with the locals.Review by: Aaron John Taylor

A nice little hotel near Ueno station. Reasonably priced and good service. Free internet. The room is a bit small but, with its good and quiet location near Ueno park, we will definitely stay here again!Review by: Preeda Iramaneerat
